Adoption Donation   $ 599 Located: RI (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details) Age: approximately 1 1/2 years Meet Silver! Silver is a sweet, loving little girl on the lookout for her forever home! At just 7 pounds and about a year and a half old, she’s the ultimate lap dog who adores snuggling up in your arms for hours. Whether she’s playing with her furry siblings, doing Zoomies in the backyard, having a blast with her toys, or simply curling up for some cozy cuddle time, Silver is always ready to bring joy and affection into your life. This adorable girl has a heart full of love and is ready to share it with the perfect family. If you're looking for a playful, loyal companion who will stay by your side and in your lap, Silver just might be the one! Silver is considered a high flight risk so a fenced in yard is preferred. She is also quite timid so a quieter home with her humans home more than not is best for her. She absolutely loves other small dogs and it has been wonderful seeing her coming out of her shell! Her personality is the sweetest! Could Silver be the perfect fit for you? Let’s help her find the loving home she deserves!  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information: marylovesdogs222@gmail.com .   marylovesdogs222@gmail.com Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Story
Clara was found as a stray in Providence and it was reported that she had been hit by a car. She was brought to the ER by the shelter but they could not find any injuries. Once her stray hold was up, Clara came to us. We estimate that Clara is 9 - 11 years old and she weighs 17 lbs. She is somewhat head-shy and will flinch when you go to pet her head. When she first arrived she didn’t like being picked up but she has gotten better with this over time. We suggest using a blanket to pick her up so everyone is more comfortable. Clara is a sweet girl who loves to snuggle but has spurts of random energy. She can also be vocal when she wants something (attention or food). Clara is horrible in the car - you’ve been warned. She does not like to be in a crate or pen. Clara had a large, hard mammary mass hanging from her chest that was removed and sent for biopsy. It was a grade 1 mammary carcinoma with complete excision. Prior to surgery we did chest X-rays that were clear and did not show any signs of cancer. Clara was also spayed during her mass removal and some sort of abdominal mass was discovered. Unfortunately the mass could not be removed or biopsied but a needle aspirate found fat cells. The mass did not look like fat, but unfortunately we are unable to determine exactly what it is. We understand that this makes her a harder candidate for adoption since she may be hospice due to this mass or it may be absolutely nothing and she will have many years left. Clara has cataracts in both eyes but can get around just fine. She’s spayed, up to date on vaccines, and recently had full blood work. Story
Biggles may be paralyzed but that doesn’t stop him from living life to the fullest! We believe Biggles is around 5 years old and he originally came to us from Antigua after he was hit by a car. Biggles was so skinny when he arrived but he’s definitely gained some weight and muscle and now weighs 12 lbs. Taking on a paralyzed dog may be a little more work, but it is definitely so rewarding. Biggles has started to walk on his own and with some physical therapy he will just get stronger. Biggles also has a wheelchair that he can use when he is outside or for longer walks. Biggles absolutely LOVES the snow and it’s so cute to watch him play in it. Biggles does need to be expressed to urinate 3-4 times a day. This is actually very easy to do but can get a little messy. We will show any potential adopter exactly what needs to be done. He should have regular urine checks to ensure that he does not have a UTI. Biggles was heartworm positive but was treated for the disease months ago. He will still show as positive on any snap test for the next 6-8 months though. Biggles has been great with most of the dogs he’s met but he can get a little jealous of new dogs (especially intact males). But he eventually calms down. Biggles is great in a pen and isn’t very vocal. He loves to play with toys. Biggles is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and recently had full blood work and a urinalysis. Story
We have all fallen in love with Toni and her adorable bum. Toni has a lot going on medically and she’ll need an owner who can continue her care and weight loss journey. Toni is 11 years old and we were told that she’s a Jack Russell Terrier (we are unsure of her actual breed or mix). When Toni came to us she weighed 26lbs but she’s now down to 22lbs and it’s definitely made such an improvement in her life. Ideally she would be around 15lbs, but any weight loss will make her feel better. Toni also had elevated kidney values so she’s on a kidney diet. Her values have decreased, but she should stay on a kidney diet for the foreseeable future. Toni had an inner-ear infection when she came to us and has been on a 4-week course of antibiotics to treat. This has caused a slight head tilt. She was also Lyme positive and was treated. Toni’s mobility was our primary concern when she first arrived. She has arthritis in her front legs and hip dysplasia in her back. She’s currently on pain medication daily and her recent weight loss has helped so much. She can now get on and off the couch on her own and has no problem running around outside. It’s been amazing to see. Toni has been great with all the dogs she has met and she actually loves to play with toys. She was a picky eater at first but we found a kidney diet that she likes. Toni’s one flaw is she absolutely hates being in the car. She will bark the entire time. Toni is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and recently had full bloodwork. She will need a dental once she loses a little more weight. This will be covered by VPR at our vet. To apply to adopt Toni, please fill out an application at vintagepetrescue.org/adopt

Story
Bella had a wonderful loving life. She traveled all over with her owner. She was always taken care of during times medical issues arose. She comes with complete medical history and records. She spent the last hours of her owner’s life bedside. She is very easy to get along with. She’s not picky on where she comes and is the best car buddy. She does not require long walks and it’s best to avoid parks because she easily picks up ear mites. Recent years, she had some issues with her ears that caused her to become deaf, but that doesn’t stop her from being a funky spunky happy girl who’s always ready to play as soon as she walks into the door after a walk or when she greets the return of her companion. Her favorite snacks are baby carrots, and celery. It is very important to keep Bella from jumping due to her arthritis in her back legs. I prefer Bella in the house to be the only pet.

Story
This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.   ##2285553##
