Story
Link is the best boy he’s sweet, cuddly, loving adventurous, and has a big personality. He suffers from general anxiety and separation anxiety. He’s currently medicated and seeing a behaviorist. Unfortunately I live in the city and work full time and I’m not able to give him the attention that he needs. He should be in a quiet home with multiple people able to care for him. Link currently does not go outside unless he needs to but is house/pee pad trained. I love Link dearly and all I want for him is to have a life where he can thrive and if the distance isn’t too far I’d also love to be able to visit him on occasion. Criteria for rehoming: 1. Live in a family home with a yard preferably in a quiet residential area. 2. Willingness to keep up with medicating him and seeing a behaviorist. 3. Being able to spend a lot of time with him. 4. 2+ people to care for him so he isn’t spending too much time alone.

Story
Ladybug is a gentle, loving and extra sweet 6-year-old, 7-pound chiweenie who desires nothing more than a human to pour all of her love into. She is joyful, playful and silly, but also very happy to couch potato next to you all day. Ladybug was not house trained when she came into rescue and has made great strides. She does well with other dogs, and would be happy to live in a multi-dog home but what she truly wants is human company. Ladybug has been spayed, and is vaccinated. She is heart worm positive and being treated. This girl will warm your heart and your lap!! ADOPT HER!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Honeybee is a 6-year-old, 8-pound chiweenie with a lust for life. He is an incredibly happy boy who loves to be in the mix. He adores children, cuddling, playing with toys in the backyard and climbing. His current foster situation has dogs of all sizes, and he enjoys them all! He was not house trained when he came into rescue and has made great strides. Now he loves to use the doggie door and is back and forth all day long looking for the best spots to snooze in the sun. Honeybee has been neutered, and is vaccinated. He is heart worm positive and being treated. He sure would love a family to appreciate his sweet demeanor and love of children!!! Story
Ben is a five-year-old dachshund who has special needs. In June 2024, he unfortunately slipped a disc, causing paralysis of his hind legs. Because of this, he requires a hands on owner who can assist him with using the bathroom. I don’t want to give him up, but I am not able to give him the proper care that he needs now and it has been a lot on me with the work in my personal schedule. He is in great spirits but it has just become too much for me to handle. He’s a sweet boy whose love language is physical touch (lol). He loves to cuddle & neck rubs. We have a wheelchair for him as well.

Story
❗ Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ Meet Lylla :) • She rides so well that if you open the car door she gets in by herself, and she doesn't get car sick at all. If you like traveling she would make a really good buddy! • She loves playing with other dogs, running in the park, cuddles, kisses, sleeping with you, walks, hikes, and delicious food (fruit, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, cheese, meat) and treats! • Personality: She is affectionate, full of energy, loves to have fun, and adapts well to new things. She likes both people and dogs and cats (she'll play with them). She also loves to play in the park or the mountains. When she's excited, she'll purr to show her excitement. She loves to be held - she wants to fall asleep with you in your arms. She's the best dog ever!

Please contact Jodi Rosenberg (jodi.rosenberg@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet boy ISO fresh start and love! PEANUT BUTTER NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Peanut Butter      Best Guess for Breed:   Dachshund and retriever mix    Best Guess for Age:  4.5 years as of March 2025        SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight:   21 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here after completing heartworm treatment.   Special adoption considerations: Peanut Butter is a truly Lucky Dog. Although he has tested positive for heartworms, treatment has been scheduled! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.  We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process.    Peanut Butter is Looking For:  His forever home. This sweetie ended up in a shelter through no fault of his own - and he's closed that chapter. He's eager to once again have his own humans for long sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up.  A cushy dog bed, quality kibble (yes, some peanut butter too!), lots of snugs - yep, all on his wish list too. But as a wise, experienced dog, he knows what's most important in life: To be safe and loved and under his own roof. He's got so much to offer in exchange - adoring gazes and loyal companionship, definitely, but he also promises to make you smile every day. What do you say? Are you Peanut Butter's soft landing? Is he the one for your home and your heart?  What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time in foster care.    Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
