Story
This little pretty chocolate dappled girl is called Mazie and goodness what a cracker jack she is.  Don’t for minute let those green eyes and chocolate marbled coat fool you to think she is gentle or easy.  She is the CEO of dogs and will run the show at your house if given the chance.  Mazie is 30 pounds and 9 months old.  She is a breed mix of Dachshund and Basset Hound we are told.  Her pics make her look big but she is a “tiny but mighty” little girl.  Mazie is not a fan of any other female dogs in her life or around her.  We don’t know where that came from but the dislike is there so we say…don’t ignore the warning.  She is great with big male dogs, not good with other small dogs or cats, but loves people deeply and wants to be around them.  She needs a fenced yard because she is a runner as most Dachshunds can be and she needs to be able to run and play and get her energy out daily.  Older children would be better for her and she is crate trained, 90% housebroken and she adores going for walks; a very good girl on a leash we can say.  She is beautiful but a “tad” bit complicated, which is why we have outlined the Likes and Dislikes of this girl to a TEE!  We want the right and perfect home and there are lots out there that can give her that.  Tiny but Mighty little Mazie is ready for a home NOW!  Please email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue : ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Tell us where you live when you email asking for information and an application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Hi, it’s nice to meet you, I’m Diablo, a 3 year old, 25 lb., dachshund/chi mix. I don’t remember much about my former life, but I’m glad to be with A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue to find my forever home. I’m a little shy around new people given all the changes I’ve been through. I’ve been in a couple of foster homes before, and I discovered that I feel more comfortable around adults and older children. Younger children scare me with their quick, sometimes unpredictable movements. I am looking for a forever home that is quiet, patient and loving. I believe I’m housetrained, but I may need a refresher. I like crates because they feel so cozy and safe. That said, I may need some coaxing in the beginning to get out of my crate and into the world.  I am very high energy so will do best in a home with people that are active and can give me plenty of exercise! Also, a home with people that are home often would be nice too because I tend to get attached to my people. They make me feel safe! I'm still working on being protective of my people. I try to remember that no one is going to take them from me but it's definitely a work in progress. I know I will grow used to being around new faces; I just need people that will be patient with me so I can learn to feel safe and secure in this world. I’m a sensitive guy with a big heart once I trust someone. Are you that forever trustworthy person I’m looking for?! ##2039331##

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. TONI is a 1-1/2 yr old female Dachshund mix… mixed with a Terrier best guess. Estimated DOB is 2/1/2023. She weighs 20#. Gets along with all our other dogs and loves to play with them no matter what size. She is not timid or shy. She will announce strangers but warms up to them quickly. We are working on house training. She rides well in the car and is okay on the leash. She’s learning new things every day. She came to us from a good Samaritan who found her trying to save her puppies from a neighborhood un-neutered male Husky that was trying to kill the pups. Four pups of the 8 were saved along with her. She will make a great dog for a couple or single person. I would only put her around children that are older and know how to treat a small-breed dog. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. Story
We want to make sure you know this is not an illusion :P Yep, Elena is 100% pug/dachshund wanna be and probably a beagle is mixed somewhere there. Do we have a DNA test? Nope this is our not so educated guess because we’re stumped by what this gorgeous and unique looking 20lbs, 5-7 months old girl might be. Elena comes to us as a stray found roaming around DC. We have no clue how she avoided being hit by a car but most likely she was zooming her way under cars and in between tires! Zooming is the word of emphasis for this girl. Do not be fooled by her short legs, cause she gives the lab, the dane and the pittie in the house a good exercise either trying to catch them or them catch her. She is so much fun to watch. She forgets she’s a short muzzle dog so her foster mom has to stop the play sessions to bring her into the air-conditioning before this kid passes out. Her background is unknown but she’s been friendly to all the dogs in the foster home and even friendlier to all the humans. She’s excited to be doing anything and everything, as long as she’s part of the action. As a matter of fact she gets so excited she gets bouts of reversed sneezing! She’s great at sleeping through the night in her crate, but once there’s movement around she’ll let the whole house know she’s ready to get out of the crate. As always, we never promote our dogs as house trained or allergy friendly. We do not know how she is with kids, cats or horses. Interested in meeting Elena? To get a response from us you will need to fill out a non-binding adoption application and get the green light from our vetting team to schedule a meet and greet. Click this link to get started: https://bit.ly/4d7XoKd (Just make sure to read the first page in its entirety!) Adoption area: We prioritize homes within 45 miles of Silver Spring, MD. However, fantastic matches in PA, NJ, NY, and WV will be considered!

Story
Hi! My name is Nelly. I am a really adorable, short legged little guy, and I am just looking for my furever home! I am 6 weeks old (born around June 26, 2024), weigh about 4 pounds, and I love dogs, cats and kids. I am doing so well with all of them in my foster home in South Carolina! I will be neutered at 8 weeks of age--before adoption, and I am microchipped, heartworm negative, dewormed, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for my age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. I am all ready to be adopted :) My adoption fee is $450, and covers all of my vetting, and includes transport within the next two weeks, if my new family lives in the northeast USA. ***PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO ADOPT WITHIN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS**** Please visit https://www.apply.daybeforetherainbow.com/ to fill out an adoption application form or email my rescue at taryn@daybeforetherainbow.com! Please contact Lowell Nelson (lowelln@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Maggie-moo! MAGGIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Maggie      Best Guess for Breed:    Basset Hound Best Guess for Age:   2 yrs 4 months as of July 2024     Gender:    Female Approximate Weight:    34 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs;  not sure about kids and cats yet, but we can find out!  Currently Living At: Shelter, needs a foster or forever home!  Special Adoption Considerations: Maggie  is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Maggie is Looking For: A loving family ready to keep a big  smile on that wonderful hound face!  Maggie's up for anything--ready to run and play with you and any dogs she meets,  and relax on the couch when the playing is done.   She's ready to give sloppy basset hound kisses if you'd like to give her home!   What My Foster Says About Me: will update when she has a foster!  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
