Initially shy around strangers, Thunder takes time to feel safe and requires a patient adopter who can help him overcome his fearfulness. He is best suited for a calm home without frequent visitors or high levels of activity outside the home. Thunder experiences car sickness and would need medication for long trips. Once trust is established, Thunder reveals his affectionate nature. He loves to cuddle and prefers sleeping close to his family, though he can be crated if necessary. Fully housebroken, Thunder is a playful dog who enjoys games of fetch, chew toys, and spending time outdoors. He would thrive in a home with a yard where he can run and play freely. His friendly demeanor extends to other dogs, making him an excellent companion for a household with canine siblings. Mable is a super fun 1 yr old, 15 lb dog and she is ready for a home of her own. She is super sweet, good with other dogs, loves people, and is all around fantastic! She will be fun to play in the yard, chasing the ball and having a blast, but is also snuggly and affectionate. She is small and cute without any of that small dog spicy personality and will make a welcome addition to her new home! Mable is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. Gideon is a 6 year old neutered male who was found as a local stray. Friendly, energetic, and sweet, Gideon is a fun dog who enjoys going on walks and romping around in the yard. He loves a good blanket and sometimes scares the staff by snuggling so deep into a comforter that we don't realize he's there! Gideon has a food allergy and will need to be on a strictly fish-based diet, but he's not picky with his food and has been more than happy with the adjustment. He could live with a dog-savvy cat and is selective about other dogs, so he may do best with a canine companion content to leave him alone.
