Story
~ I can live in any size home, including apartments.~ I want to live with dog savvy adults. ~ I have not had much experience with cats or dogs but am willing to consider sharing my home with a furry friend.~ I have my moments of energy and need to get some exercise every day.~ I am a great dog with lots of potential. I would do best with a family who has owned Miniature Pinschers or small dogs before.Meet Fred! This handsome 5-year-old Miniature Pinscher is looking for a new home after being surrendered due to his owner`s health. At just 10.6 pounds, Fred is a black and rust bundle of personality, and he`s ready to find a family to call his own. Fred is neutered and reportedly house-trained, crate-trained, and pee pad trained, so he’s a well-behaved little guy. He’s also got a medium energy level, which means he enjoys his daily exercise but also loves to nap, especially on the couch or tucked under a cozy blanket. Fred can be a bit of a toy lover—his favorite things are balls and plush toys with squeakers, though he can be a little possessive over the ones he truly loves. This sweet boy has had limited exposure to other animals, but he’s open to the idea of sharing his home with a furry friend, given the right introductions. Fred is used to living with one adult and he’s looking for a dog-savvy home with adults only who understand his breed and his quirks. Fred is a great companion for someone experienced with Miniature Pinschers or small dog breeds, and he has tons of potential to be a wonderful addition to the right home. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal dog with a bit of personality and a lot of love to give, Fred just might be the perfect match for you. Fill out an adoption application today to learn more about Fred from one of our adoption counselors.

Story
Available in TX only! Thunder is a sweet and cautious rescue dog who was found as a stray along with his two siblings. Initially shy around strangers, Thunder takes time to feel safe and requires a patient adopter who can help him overcome his fearfulness. He is best suited for a calm home without frequent visitors or high levels of activity outside the home. Thunder experiences car sickness and would need medication for long trips. Once trust is established, Thunder reveals his affectionate nature. He loves to cuddle and prefers sleeping close to his family, though he can be crated if necessary. Fully housebroken, Thunder is a playful dog who enjoys games of fetch, chew toys, and spending time outdoors. He would thrive in a home with a yard where he can run and play freely. His friendly demeanor extends to other dogs, making him an excellent companion for a household with canine siblings. Thunder's ideal adopter will be understanding of his need for a consistent and reassuring environment. With time, patience, and love, Thunder will flourish as a loyal and loving member of his forever family. To apply directly for Thunder click the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-524 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).

Age:   approx 11 years old   Weight: 9  lbs My adoption fee is $ 100  which includes transportation charges to the Northeast. Rodger Dodger is the most precious loving boy ! He is a snuggler and an adventurer ! He is at a steady weight of 9-10 lbs but still skinny. When he came in he was under 4lbs !!!!!!! It took a while to get him up to a weight for neuter. He is an active playful boy. He is neutered , heartworm negative, utd on vaccines, and has had a dental Things to know: 1. We cant get his body fat to cover his hip bones yet but trying 2. When he had his dental they pulled his canines which caused oral fissures 3. He eats dry and can (can alone may get stuck in the holes in the roof of his mouth)   If you serious about adopting, the first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website:   https://www.smalldogrescuene.org/April 13, 2025, 5:45 pm
