Say hello to Missy, a vibrant 10-month-old Min Pin mix who’s brimming with life and ready to bring endless joy to her forever home! Born on February 21, 2024, Missy weighs 23 pounds of pure energy and affection. This playful and loving girl adores people and is always up for fun. She’s great with other dogs, though her energetic play style might be a bit rough for some. Missy must go to a home with bigger dogs only. Missy has a special affinity for her toys and loves to carry them around all day long—her little treasures bring her endless joy! Though Missy is full of affection, she tends to jump up in her excitement, so she’ll need a patient owner who can help her work on her manners. She’ll thrive in a cat-free home where she can be the center of attention and shower her new family with all the love she has to give. Fully vetted and ready for her new adventure, Missy’s adoption fee is $300. Ready to make Missy a part of your family? Story
Espresso is a gorgeous street dog who’s never experienced the love and comfort of a home. She’s about 3 years old and bony at 22 pounds. She’s probably a complete mutt—a mix of a bunch of breeds. She’s very scared at the rescue so far, but she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She hasn’t showed her teeth or growled at all with anyone—human or canine. She has so much love to give and is sure to open up in a home.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.December 17, 2024, 5:29 am

Story
Available in TX only! Thunder is a sweet and cautious rescue dog who was found as a stray along with his two siblings. Initially shy around strangers, Thunder takes time to feel safe and requires a patient adopter who can help him overcome his fearfulness. He is best suited for a calm home without frequent visitors or high levels of activity outside the home. Thunder experiences car sickness and would need medication for long trips. Once trust is established, Thunder reveals his affectionate nature. He loves to cuddle and prefers sleeping close to his family, though he can be crated if necessary. Fully housebroken, Thunder is a playful dog who enjoys games of fetch, chew toys, and spending time outdoors. He would thrive in a home with a yard where he can run and play freely. His friendly demeanor extends to other dogs, making him an excellent companion for a household with canine siblings. Thunder's ideal adopter will be understanding of his need for a consistent and reassuring environment. With time, patience, and love, Thunder will flourish as a loyal and loving member of his forever family. To apply directly for Thunder click the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-524 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
Pacer, a black and tan Miniature Pinscher, about 4.5 years old on 5/19/24, was rescued 2 years ago. He was morbidly obese and appeared to be in a catatonic state when we got him. He was so terrified that he completely shut down and moved so little that we were concerned that he wasn’t even breathing. We took him to the vet to bring him up to date on vaccinations, but decided to wait until he was less terrified before we put him through the trauma of being neutered. He was neutered and vaccinations updated on 5/31/24. Pacer, unfortunately, tested positive for heartworms and is on the slow kill, doxycycline protocol. Pacer will do best in a quiet home with an experienced dog owner. Due to his fearfulness, he will not be considered for homes with young children. Pacer is located in Arkansas. He currently weighs about 15 pounds. His adoption donation is $465 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to give Pacer the loving home he deserves and help him develop into the confident little guy he can become, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. href="http://dhd.coffeecup.com/forms/bhsapp/">You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer will contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
