This precious dog is available to the right adopter who will be patient and give this shy dog time to adapt. Dot is guessed to be 4 years old Miniature Poodle. She is an adorable pup who loves to play and prance about. She can be a bit shy at first but is quickly learning that humans are good for lots of cuddles. She is currently being fostered with one of our dog trainers that specializes and rehabilitates timid, shy dogs. She is the perfect size for snuggling and her eyes will melt your heart! Her foster mom thinks she would do better in a quiet home with adults or older children to work with her. Another confident dog could be helpful, but not necessary. Her foster mom has an amazing rehabilitation protocol to help these scared dogs and is working with her on potty training, socializing with dogs and humans, kennel training, doggie door training and if time permits, even leash and car training. She also has an amazing group of volunteers that meet twice a week to help socialize all the scared foster dogs in her care. There are lots of other dogs at her foster moms house so we know she is dog friendly. Her foster doesn't have any cats but thinks she would be fine with them if introduced slowly and properly. She will need an adopter, who will give her love and patience. Please consider this adorable girl as a part of your family. She deserves all the kindness and will give you a lifetime of affection. The shy dogs become the most loyal dogs, who adore their humans. Her foster mom is located in Fort Collins Colorado and wants to find a patient adopter, who has experience with handling and rehabilitating shy dogs, or who is willing to help him continue gaining confidence by taking one of Jodi's foundation classes in person or via zoom. This class is NOT basic obedience, but instead, is designed for rescue dogs and teaches the adopter how to work to build the dogs confidence and overcome any trauma the dog may have experienced. This training would definitely help the family and this sweet guy adjust to their new life together quicker. She provides a discount on training.

When Lexi's rescuer walked down the aisle of the scary Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the adorable (and extremely dirty and very sad) Lexi tucked tightly into a cage...her time was up. Lexi ended up at a high-kill shelter through no fault of her own. She couldn't help that her guardians were irresponsible and made no effort to keep her safe and secure. She also couldn't help that they made the decision that it was too much trouble to care for her in any way. When Lexi received her interstate health certificate we were informed that she's very healthy, sweet as can be and blind due to either cataracts or her DNA. Her rescuers were initially surprised as Lexi seemed to function so well with a very positive attitude. They decided her blindness made her all the more irresistible with her loving nature and sweet smile. It was a week or so later that Farfel's got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this Poodle / Maltese is..and the need to save her life. We immediately agreed and Lexi became a very treasured Farfel's dog. She earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with her great personality (just a bit shy initially but warms up with kindness) and sweet and positive attitude toward all those who are loving to her. At about 5ish years old and 19 lbs, this very beautiful girl is a blank slate waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best dog she's capable of being. We'd love to match Lexi to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable girl. She's a perfect size to accompany her family just about everywhere smaller dogs are welcome...and would love it! Positive reinforcement/force-free group obedience class will not only provide socialization and great skills...but will cement the relationship between Lexi and her family. She's a super-smart girl that learns skills easily and really likes to please her people. These are the qualities that make a dog shine when learning their behavioral skills. Betty is a 6lb, 11+ year old SUPER SWEET Poodle. Too often seniors are dumped at overcrowded shelters for many different reasons. It could be because their owner has passed or they are unable to care them anymore, or often they have become "useless" or "too expensive" for their humans and are thrown away like yesterdays trash, easily replaced with a new, young puppy. Dogs give their whole lives to their humans and their loyalty is unmatched, they deserve the same from us. We try very hard to rescue as many senior dogs as possible, and find them a human that cherishes them for who they are and the love they have to give - even in their senior years. Dogs often deserve so much more than humans give them, and we work tirelessly to make sure they get what they truly deserve. Betty was surrendered by her loving humans family when she was unable to take care of her anymore, and her humans family could not be bothered to take care of Betty. Betty was terrified and confused, trembling in a terrifying shelter without her Momma fir the first time ever. The shelter reached out to us to get her out as quickly as possible because they knew she wasn't doing wel and may not make it out of there alive. Once we sprang Betty from the shelter she immediately melted into her foster Momma's arms, as if she knew she was safe and going to be okay. She made her way to CO on a rescue flight where she got to ride front seat in the pilots lap the whole time. Betty has now been in CO a couple weeks and is ready to find her forever family. She is a senior girl, and it looks like she may have some cloudiness in one eye - which comes with the territory of being older for dogs. She seems like she is in great health and has a long life ahead of her. She is the sweetest, most amazing little dog and her foster Momma has nothing but good things to say about her. Her is what she has to say about her: "Betty couldn't be any more perfect. She seems to be potty trained and she's super friendly. She loves having an open crate to go hang out in but would much prefer to be on a humans lap 24-7. A quiet household would be ideal for her to relax and snuggle all day long. She gets along just fine with other dogs, but would prefer to chill and receive belly rubs and love all day long. She would be perfect for someone who is looking for a low-key best friend to spend their days with.
