Story
***I am recovering from orthopedic surgery and need follow up treatment and care***HIGHLIGHTS:- Needs another dog in the home- Needs a fenced-in backyard Meet Bob, a timid yet gentle mini Schnauzer with a journey of trust ahead of him. Right now, he’s still learning that humans can be kind, gentle, and bring wonderful things like treats and cozy couches. Bob will need a confident dog companion in his new home to guide him, helping him build his confidence as he learns the ropes. Though he’s not ready for leash walks yet, he will require a fenced yard to help keep him safe. In a playgroup, Bob prefers the company of just one or two dog friends rather than big groups, but he’ll bond closely with his new dog buddy. While he’s still uncertain about being carried, we’ve discovered a playful side to Bob—he loves his toys! He can often be found in the back of his kennel, happily tossing toys around and squeaking away. Bob is seeking a quiet, patient family who will give him the space and time he needs to grow in trust. With the right love, patience, and plenty of squeaky toys, Bob has the potential to blossom into a loyal, gentle companion. - - - - - Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog`s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Meet Peter! Peter is a small, white Mini Schnauzer mix with a lot of personality packed into his little frame. Rescued from the shelter just in time, Peter has been given a second chance at life, and now we’re looking for his perfect forever home. Peter’s ideal adopter is an experienced dog owner who understands that some dogs need a little extra care and patience. Peter has shown some bite tendencies, and while we’re working with a trainer to understand his triggers, it’s important to be mindful of his boundaries. He doesn’t like being picked up and prefers not to be pet unless he comes to you first. When he feels safe and comfortable, Peter can be snuggly and affectionate—but it’s always on his terms. He is good with other dogs, so a canine companion could be a great fit for him. However, because of his biting history, Peter should not be in a home with children. Peter isn’t just a dog—he’s a work in progress who needs someone willing to invest time, patience, and love into helping him thrive. In the right home, Peter’s personality will shine, and he’ll reward you with loyalty and companionship. If you’re the experienced, patient adopter Peter needs, please fill out an application on our website. Peter is waiting for someone to see the good dog he truly is and help him live his best life. Once he warms up, Peter is incredibly affectionate and loyal. He would do best in a quiet household with adults or older children who understand his need for patience and kindness. If you’re looking for a sweet, devoted companion, Peter is ready to meet you and start a new chapter in his life!
