Story
I'm Rocco and my story begins with some really scary times that I lived through with my previous owner. It included addiction, homelessness, violence, and finally, escape! I ran away in the middle of the night when police came to our house for violence again. It wasn't their fault, but as they were investigating the situation I used the front door that was left open as my time to run away! I just ran aimlessly for two weeks and by a miracle I landed in the perfect person's yard! They took me in and comforted me, fed me, and let me rest with them while they looked for my owner. My owner contacted them, but was unable to take me due to the circumstances she lived in. My "angel" rescuer was happy to help me try to find a new home. I lived with her for several weeks where she really got to know me! She said I was great with other dogs and that I loved human attention. I love a bed and not necessarily a "dog" bed!! A "people" bed is fine with me too! And I love to "talk" when I am excited! I am about two years old and I am a mountain cur mix. I have all of my vaccinations, I am heartworm negative, I have a microchip, and I have been neutered. My rescuer said I could use a little more work on leash walking, but all in all I was a "super" great dog! I want to give a big SHOUTOUT to my kind rescuer who took me in even though it was the middle of the night, helped me put some weight back on after being on the "lam" for two weeks, and for going the extra mile to help me find a stable and loving home. You are the BEST!!
