Meet Sophia, a sweet 7 month old spayed female cur/hound mix, currently weighing about 40 lbs. She has a beautiful brindle and white coat, with spots on her legs. Sophia and her brother Boxy were sadly abandoned in TN. They can both be a bit shy and take a little while to warm up to new people, but they are very sweet dogs! Sophia is good with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. She is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. She is working on leash training. From Sophia's current foster: “Sophia - low energy in the house but as soon as she goes out with other dogs, she’s a playful puppy. Loves being with other dogs, her whole demeanor changes! Sleeps like a rock at night - her favorite position for sleeping is on her back. If someone is looking for a companion for their dog, Sophia would be perfect - just enough play and energy for any dog. When she first arrived, I had to carry her out of her transport and whenever she went outside. Doesn’t like to be rushed but always gets there with gentle prodding. Want a couch potato who will be a great companion for your younger or older dog, Sophia is the one. Her personality is typical hound, aloof and low key til it’s time to play. This gal has been at the shelter since she was a day old. Her momma was in an abandoned house and brought to us during the snowstorms in January. She and her sister are the last 2 babies to find homes. She will probably be around 45lbs when full grown as that’s what her mama is, we have no idea about the dad. Alyssa is a bit more shy around new people. She likes to play but will take a little time to warm up to her new family. She gets along with other dogs her size, she hasn’t been around too many larger dogs. She will need all the basic puppy training as she’s still young. She is a sweet gal who’s patiently waiting for a forever family.

Asha’s owners loved her but had a farm, and she had a taste for the owner's chickens and chose to surrender her. Asha is high-energy and loves to play, but also loves her snuggles and being with people. She has tested well with dogs, but due to her prey drive towards chickens, we are hesitant to suggest a home with small animals/cats. Asha is heartworm-negative, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for her new home. This furbaby is located at Animal Harbor in southern middle TN. Also, for a medium sized dog of 55ish lbs, I am a great snuggler!! I will wrap myself around my Foster Mum and delight in the attention!! I will stay there snuggling for as long as she has time! I walk well on leash and know how to sit and stay. I have great focus and pay attention really well. I am a people pleaser and will try to do whatever it takes to make you happy!! I get on well with most all other doggies and enjoy romping in the yard getting a good game of keep away or tag you're it going but I LOVE hoomans and haven't met a stranger yet, I'm pretty sure everyone is here just to give me lots of lovins!! :) I'm a great size to make you a pawsome action adventure type companion, whether it's going for neighborhood strolls, camping trips or hikes in the wilderness, I'm willing and ready! She is being cared after by a sweet friend of her owners in hopes to find her a home that will love her an adore her like she had been.
