COURTESY LISTINGThis dog is a courtesy listing (not in the AARF program) but we will be reviewing applications and helping the owner find the right home for ROO. Please visit http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-app/ to apply. Introducing Roo: Your Energetic and Affectionate Companion! Roo is a 2 1/2-year-old Mountain Cur weighing approximately 50lbs. This handsome pup is bursting with energy, always ready for an adventure. However, when he's seeking affection, he knows how to switch into a calm and loving mode. One of the most endearing qualities about Roo is his love for affection and his favorite pastime—running and doing zoomies in the yard! You'll find yourself charmed by his playful antics and infectious joy. Watching him fetch and play with toys is an absolute delight. Roo is a well-trained dog who knows commands such as sit, wait, place, and kennel. He recently completed a 30-day in-board training, demonstrating his eagerness to learn and please his human companions. If needed, his caregivers are more than willing to cover the cost of additional training to ensure a smooth transition into your home. When it comes to manners, Roo is house-trained and has excellent crate behavior. He understands the cue to kennel up and is comfortable spending time in his crate. You won't have to worry about any accidents or destructive behavior. Roo enjoys playing fetch, spending time with his favorite toys, and socializing with other dogs. His friendly nature makes him an ideal playmate for canine pals of all sizes. Although he hasn't been around cats, livestock, or many children, he may be tempted to give chase to small creatures out of playfulness. From a medical standpoint, Roo is in excellent health, with no known concerns. Roo has shown compatibility with dogs and adults; however, he may need some time to warm up to new people. Slow introductions and a gentle approach are key to helping him feel comfortable. He walks well on a leash and rides calmly in the car, making him a great companion for outings and adventures. This sweet and intelligent boy thrives in an understanding and loving home. He's eager to continue learning, and his caregivers believe he would benefit from activities like swimming, as he showed great interest and enthusiasm during his encounters with the pool. If you're seeking a loyal and fun-loving companion who will keep you active and entertained, Roo is the perfect match. Adopting Roo means gaining a friend for life who will shower you with love, energy, and affection. Ask us about Roo today!    Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Story
On March 29th of this year 2024, our beautiful Lumina gave birth to 12 puppies and raised everyone of them to a place that they are now seeking adoptions.  Every0ne of these precious babies survived because of the great love and mothering skills of this Mountain Cur mix girl.  We call her Lumina because she illuminates the world with her kind spirit and sweetness.  When you look into her eyes you see a connection of love and hope. Lumina was a stray and discovered by a woman in Tennessee right at the time that she was almost ready to give birth.  Lumina has a calm spirit and someone will be so lucky to have her as their very own.  She has some anxiety about being left alone but with time she will come to understand that she will not be abandoned by new family.   She is housebroken pretty much and easy going and goes with the flow within a family’s lifestyle rhythm.   She is loving, adaptable, gorgeous and kind.   Gets along with all other creatures and loves the 4 year old toddler in the family.  A busy little boy who she loves to see.   If you interested in this girl please let us know and we will be so happy to send you an application if you email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Please also tell us where you live:  city and state.  We are in Nashville, TN but we also transport northward from Tennessee to New England and stop in 5 states on our route northward.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Razzle Taz has the most beautiful coal black eyes that pierce  your soul as he stares at you begging for some love and attention.  This boy was taken from an abusive family who were bragging to co-workers about kicking and tying him up.  The co-worker contacted Critter Cavalry and we found a wonderful foster family that is spending time getting to know Razzle Taz and what his emotional and physical needs will be in life.  This boy is 6 months old and weighs 32 pounds.  He is slim and  sleek and has the energy of 3 puppies.   This boy is so smart and curious and he needs mentally fun challenges daily and some real walking and exercise time in a fenced backyard or on the road running with an active person.  This boy is very smart and would benefit from games, flyball, agility classes, just thinking activities paired with exercise.  He is friendly with everyone and good with cats, dogs, children and ready to take on learning all he can about the world.   If your are interested in this Mountain Cur mix pup please write to us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
This beautiful girl will knock your socks off if you run into her on the street. Never have we seen a dog with such beautiful brindle coloring and gorgeous blue eyes. Beautifully Bailey is all we can say when we think of her. She was found last Thanksgiving 2023 abandoned at a gas station out in the Midwest. Her Foster mom was traveling and she took Bailey in to give her a second chance at life since she knew a gas station could mean the end of her life. She cannot be a long-term adopted dog at this home. We are helping this kind Samaritan to find Beautifully Baily the right place where she can live out her life with a fenced in yard as a place to release her energy. For goodness sake a girl's gotta run off those calories to keep her girlish figure and mental health at tip top shape. This girl always has a smile and is in the best mood ever she's an all-round great dog she loves to chew on good things so keep plenty of chew toys around so they aren't your pieces of furniture or shoes or socks. Bailey is pretty much house trained but could use a little bit of help and tolerance. Occasionally she has an excited pee when her Foster family comes in to greet her.  She is not around her foster family a lot since they are so busy with their schedule and work. This limited attention to her brings out a submissive excitement that has her pee in submission.  It can be easily remedied with more attention from a different owner with time for her. We want a family that will walk her. take her to training classes and  continue to socialize her with other dogs and people. She's a stupendous creature.  If you're looking for something unique, smart and special, trainable and ready to absorb what you give her, then please consider Beautifully Bailey. Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and ask for an adoption form or answers to any of your questions. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Introducing Bindi 🩵 She is a mountain cur mix with a hint of hound-like charm. At 2-3 years old, Bindi's light brindle coat is a sight to behold, but it's her sweet nature that truly shines. She's not just a pretty face; she's well-behaved and housebroken, making her the ideal companion for any family. Bindi's social, getting along well with other dogs, but she's just as content being the center of attention in a one-dog household. Her crate training and leash-walking skills make her a breeze to handle. You can even take her on road trips as she rides in the car without a fuss. Bindi's affectionate soul extends to her foster family’s grandkids; she adores their company. She has never shown aggression towards cats, but she might bark at them through the fence, so it's best to supervise her around feline friends. Bindi is the perfect blend of playful and cuddly, always ready to shower you with kisses and snuggles. If you're looking for a loyal companion, Bindi is your girl. Give her a chance, and you'll find a loving, four-legged family member who'll steal your heart. APPLICATION: If this dog has stolen your heart, don't wait! Please apply online now to be considered as a potential adopter. NAME, GENDER, AGE WEIGHT & BREED DOG: MYSTIC GENDER: FEMALE DOB: 11-13-22 APPROX WEIGHT: 50 approx BREED: Plot Hound Mix LOCATION: Delhi, LA ADOPTION FEE: $450.00 (includes transport) RESCUE STORY: Every so often we come across an unfortunate situation and we are compelled to help. It is not abandonment or neglect; it is simply a loving pet owner that can no longer care for their pet. We are so happy when they reach out to us so that we may help find the pup a new, loving home instead of being turned into a shelter where, sadly, their fate is commonly not a good one. Turning in a dog is by no means easy on the human, but the dog also goes through a lot of stress and feelings of loss. They just don’t understand why they were taken from their home and their people. Mystic is going through this right now, and we are in search of new people for her, people who will be just as lucky to get her as she is them. PERSONALITY: Mystic is a beautiful Plot Hound Mix with silky brindle fur that looks like a tiger, and a delightful personality to boot! Foster mom says she is super sweet and very smart. Mystic is young and energetic and would absolutely love a young couple to hike with or a family with children to play with (we ALWAYS stress, however, that young children and dogs should never be left unsupervised for the safety of both). ABOUT THE BREED: When it comes to the personality, the Plott Hounds are confident, courageous and bright dogs. In addition to it, their kind nature attracts the attention of the people. Hounds are one of the most popular breeds in the USA because they are loyal, loving, affectionate and patient, making great family dogs. Plott Hounds will defend their owners from perceived threats. And early socialization is imperative to prevent this trait from getting out of hand. This breed is also fantastic watchdogs. Plott Hounds are incredibly brave. They were bred to hunt massive animals such as bears, so they will not back down from any person or dog no matter the size. The Hounds are known to fit perfectly into family life with its sweet, peaceful and gentle nature. These dogs are well behaved and always friendly. They are not aggressive to people and other animals. They will happily welcome your guests with a tail wag. This breed is just as happy lounging around the house. They are extremely affectionate with all the family members and have an average activity level. The Plott Hound has a curious and playful temperament. Firstly, these dogs are loyal and smart. Moreover, they love to please their people and be along with them every-time possible. Overall, the Plott Hounds are people-oriented dogs that behave very well with their family members. Though the Plott Hounds are loyal and affectionate with their people, they are somewhat wary of strangers. And they are likely to bark at them at first. But when properly introduced, they get along very quickly. Lastly, the independent and stubborn nature of them play a huge role while training. CHILDREN: Yes, the Plott Hounds have a good reputation when it comes to dealing with kids. However, these dogs are better with older children who know how to treat dogs better. And this means they are not suited for younger kids. These dogs can become very possessive of their food items. To conclude, the Plott Hounds are only recommended for families with older children. WHY THE PLOTT HOUND? The Plott Hound is a fabulous pet for dog savvy owners. The Plott Hound temperament makes it a challenging choice for beginners, but if you are an experienced guardian and you are looking for a fiercely loyal companion, the Plott Hound might be the dog for you. Mystic had a loving owner and is now in search of a new forever home to call her own. If you think Mystic might be the right addition to your family, please give her a chance. She is such a wonderful girl!

APPLICATION: If this dog has stolen your heart, don't wait! Please apply online now to be considered as a potential adopter. NAME, GENDER, AGE WEIGHT & BREED DOG: SWEETIE GENDER: FEMALE DOB: 11-30-22 approx. WEIGHT: 30 approx. BREED: Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Mix LOCATION: Delhi, LA ADOPTION FEE: $450.00 (includes transport) RESCUE STORY Kaylee, our foster’s oldest granddaughter, was with her one day and they saw a dog on the side of the road—she was lovingly obedient and was waiting for the person that dumped her to come back and pick her up. This was not the first time they saw the dog, so Kaylee begged her grandma to turn around and go back. Kaylee gently picked her up and put her in the car—of course they brought her home. It was obvious that this dog was abandoned; they noticed that people had been feeding her with scraps that were on the side of the road. However, Kaylee was very worried that she was going to get hit. Kaylee named her “Sweetie”, she is probably about nine months old and she’s heartworm negative. She’s already on prevention and she’s had all her vaccinations. She just needs to be spayed which we can get done as soon as possible. Sweetie is very grateful and appreciative. She knows that she’s been rescued and she’s obviously a good dog. PERSONALITY Sweetie is a beautiful Catahoula Cur mix. She was blessed with all the gorgeous markings and rich colors on her coat. She is the still a typical “baby” and she craves love, attention, and safety. According to foster mom, she is super friendly, and warms right up to anyone that is dishing out love. She has a sweet disposition and has an all-around sweet nature. She keeps right up with her foster siblings, running, playing, and rolling around the grass enjoying all the silly antics going on. Patricia, her foster mom, tells us that she is not sure how she would be with the cats if left unattended. She is very good-natured, so happy to feel healthy again, eager to learn all about her new life and doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. CHILDREN Sweetie is very friendly loves kids and gets along with all other dogs, however, she is still a puppy, she gets along with anyone. Children will love to run and play with her, but we always strongly suggest that no dog, young or old, should ever be left unsupervised with children until everyone is very comfortable in all situations. ABOUT THE BREED When considering adding a new member to the family it is important to research breeds so that everyone, including the new pup, is comfortable and happy. The Catahoula Cur is a loyal, independent, and watchful breed. They are a medium-large, short-coated dog, known for its many varied coat and eye colors and patterns. Catahoula’s are the only breed of dog to have historically originated in the state of Louisiana. They are affectionate, loyal, gentle, watchdogs and of course as loyal companions. The Catahoula Cur is also an intelligent, hardworking, and loyal dog breed, which makes it a dependable addition to many families. They love the great outdoors and are the ideal dog for owners who like to explore nature and stay active. We are looking forward to finding Sweetie her forever home, so that this chapter will close for her. We want her to live a life of love and happiness with her new family. Her rough beginning is in the past, she is a delight, and will make a wonderful companion for a family looking to offer her a loving home. She has been given a great start with her foster family, they restored her confidence in humans and gave her the love and security she needed. If you think Sweetie would be a good fit for your family, she will absolutely bring you years of love, joy, companionship, and lots of fun, too!
