Story

I’m Nutella and am from Alabama. My foster momma says I should dream big because I deserve my biggest dream. So here it goes. My wish is to find my forever home. A home that is going to love me unconditionally for all that I am. See I only have three legs. After I was hit by a car in 2023 the doctors did everything they could to save my leg however the best thing for me was to amputate in April 2023. I’ve had to adjust lots since then however I’m a Warrior! These amazing humans from Warrior Dog Rescue brought me to Minnesota where more amazing humans brought me into their home, have shown me so much love, and taken care of me while I continue to heal. They have taken me to a special dog therapy doctor. I have a special bed I lay on every day that is really helping me feel better. I also take some really good medication that helps me feel better too. Our goal is to one day not need all of them. We are working on my walking. I can walk about five minutes and then I need to be done but each week I can another 5 minutes and see how I do. I do get pretty sore but we are confident in time I’ll be able to walk longer. It’s hard to keep me down :) I’m in what the humans call my adolescence stage. Where I can be a little stubborn and sassy. I need a family that will understand my breed and need for at times to have some space and make me take “breaks” as my foster mom calls them. See sometimes I don’t know what’s best for me and I need to take a break. I dream of a home that will have a fenced in yard to keep me safe. As much as I like to play with the dogs I live with (4 of them), I might like being the only dog or one that doesn’t mind me stealing the bones and toys and doesn’t react. I really like the resident cat and we play often. My other dream would be to have a home where they continue to help me on my healing journey and a home without a lot of stairs. My foster mom says I’m the best snuggler and have the softest ears. She giggles when they bounce when I bark. I love snuggling in bed and enjoy the little massages I get. I do really well in my kennel when they leave for work or when they leave me out. I also like to chew on bones and balls. I also like when my foster momma puts out puzzles for me to play with, it keeps my mind busy and really enjoy the treats that are in them. I can’t wait to be able to run in the yard and chase after the ball like I used to. I also love to be outside and find the treasures I bring outside and chew on sticks. I really like being on the boat in the summer. Foster momma also says there are so many things to love about me it’s hard to put in words. Hello Minnnesota … Whistler here from Alabama! I just arrived in July and already excited to make this my new home. I am naturally a happy guy and so far have gotten along with every dog I’ve met. I love to play and be with my humans. I’m a good boy at night and sleep in my kennel. I also do my business outside. I’m doing really well at sit and working on touch. They tell me I’m a very smart boy. I love to snuggle and lay with you on the couch. I even like to sit outside. I haven’t been around kids yet however my foster mom is confident I’d do extremely well. My foster family also has a cat that I don’t seem to bother, but he also stays away most of the time. Cameo, a beautiful name for a beautiful gal like me. I have the sweet natured attitude that will make me a great family addition. At 2 years old, I'm also at a great age where as I'm still playful but way past that destructive puppy stage. That sure makes for a nice combo for my new family. Oh and another nice thing...I'm already house trained too!! I have an amazing tiger striped pattern in my coat and show stopping amber colored eyes which make for a stunning combo!! My hairytage of the Mountain Cur and the Plott hound makes for the beautiful swirling stripe pattern of my coat, a genetic characteristic. My personality is sweet, sweet, sweet and I am very human oriented. I love giving and getting kisses and spending time with my people. Also, for a medium sized dog of 55ish lbs, I am a great snuggler!! I will wrap myself around my Foster Mum and delight in the attention!! I will stay there snuggling for as long as she has time! I walk well on leash and know how to sit and stay. I have great focus and pay attention really well. I am a people pleaser and will try to do whatever it takes to make you happy!! I get on well with most all other doggies and enjoy romping in the yard getting a good game of keep away or tag you're it going but I LOVE hoomans and haven't met a stranger yet, I'm pretty sure everyone is here just to give me lots of lovins!! :) I'm a great size to make you a pawsome action adventure type companion, whether it's going for neighborhood strolls, camping trips or hikes in the wilderness, I'm willing and ready! And then after our fun, I love my beloved snuggles by the fireplace (on the couch is fine too). I'm up for trying it all with...YOU!! This gal has been at the shelter since she was a day old. Her momma was in an abandoned house and brought to us during the snowstorms in January. She and her sister are the last 2 babies to find homes. She will probably be around 45lbs when full grown as that’s what her mama is, we have no idea about the dad. Alyssa is a bit more shy around new people. She likes to play but will take a little time to warm up to her new family. She gets along with other dogs her size, she hasn’t been around too many larger dogs. She will need all the basic puppy training as she’s still young. She is a sweet gal who’s patiently waiting for a forever family.

Asha’s owners loved her but had a farm, and she had a taste for the owner's chickens and chose to surrender her. Asha is high-energy and loves to play, but also loves her snuggles and being with people. She has tested well with dogs, but due to her prey drive towards chickens, we are hesitant to suggest a home with small animals/cats. Asha is heartworm-negative, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for her new home. This furbaby is located at Animal Harbor in southern middle TN. Meet Harvey This guy is a fun loving pup. Harvey is social, friendly, curious, smart and affectionate. He enjoys having a dog to case and wrestle but does not need another dog in the house, he is also happy to hang out with his people. Harvey enjoys spending time with you whether it is playing, talking walks, going on adventures or snuggling up watching tv. He loves to play. Toys are great for throwing around, playing tug and chewing. Harvey loves walks-he loves to get outside and meet new friends, but cars can be scary- he is getting used to city living.
