Story
Asha’s owners loved her but had a farm, and she had a taste for the owner's chickens and chose to surrender her. Asha is high-energy and loves to play, but also loves her snuggles and being with people. She has tested well with dogs, but due to her prey drive towards chickens, we are hesitant to suggest a home with small animals/cats. Asha is heartworm-negative, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for her new home. This furbaby is located at Animal Harbor in southern middle TN. You can apply at www.animalharbor.org If approved, we will facilitate a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions you may have. We partner with the awesome transport service company Rescue Riders to safely and professionally move our animals to their loving new homes

Story
This gal has been at the shelter since she was a day old. Her momma was in an abandoned house and brought to us during the snowstorms in January. She and her sister are the last 2 babies to find homes. She will probably be around 45lbs when full grown as that’s what her mama is, we have no idea about the dad. Alyssa is a bit more shy around new people. She likes to play but will take a little time to warm up to her new family. She gets along with other dogs her size, she hasn’t been around too many larger dogs. She will need all the basic puppy training as she’s still young. She is a sweet gal who’s patiently waiting for a forever family.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This ball of sweetness is Benz, or Benny if you like. He is a typical goofy, playful puppy who loves toys. He plays hard, then passes out for a good nap. He has met a kitten in his foster home and they seem to be best friends. Slow introductions with any furry house members are always recommended though. He knows his name and comes running when he is called. It is adorable! He does get a little vocal when he gets excited. He is looking for a new place to call home and someone to help him learn all he needs to know to be the bestest buddy ever.   Benz is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 15, 2024, 10:44 am

Story
Faye was part of a cruelty case confiscation where she and her sibling or son were being kept in a room with another (deceased) dog without food or water. They both were literally starving and dying from dehydration. Thank goodness the sheriff's dept was involved and they were able to get all of the animals to safety and open a case against this person. Faye finally became available for rescue at the shelter and turns out she was definitely pregnant. It was tough to tell at the time of confiscation due to her belly being somewhat fuller due to having babies inside. Once we got her to our rescue and she was given a soft bed and a safe spot to rest, she started giving birth the very next morning. Faye is the mommy of 5 beautiful brindle puppies. She is currently taking care of her little ones while we make sure everyone is getting what they need to stay healthy. Faye is very affectionate, quiet and sweet. She is a "real" rescue story. Apply now! Let Love Live rescues animals in Texas and many southern states. We have two locations, our shelter and sanctuary in rural Northeast Texas and our Minnesota foster-based program. If you are interested in meeting a pet, please fill out an adoption application. Once an application is submitted you will be assigned an adoption coordinator and at that time all questions will be answered during the approval process.
