Story
Meet Aster! Aster is a five year old, 14 pound Pekingese/Pomeranian mix.
Aster is a low-energy queen who demands to be treated like the royalty she is. Her regular day includes enjoying some wet food (don't you dare try to serve her kibble, peasant) and relaxing on the cool floor during the summer. When the occasional zoomies strike, Aster loves playing tag her foster mom or chasing after her squeaky ball (other toys are beneath her).
Aster is 100% crate trained- she sleeps in her royal quarters each night, and is perfectly fine spending a few hours in there while her foster mom works or runs errands. Though she is not yet leash trained or trained to go out doors, she is pee pad trained and has not had a single accident in an inappropriate location.
Aster is fostered with another similarly sized dog and is largely indifferent to him (he is also a peasant, in her eyes). Though she has not been formally cat tested, since she is so cat-like herself, we think she would do well with them! Her ideal animal companions are other laid back animals.
Some of Aster's favorite things include lamb shawarma, milk bones, her squeaky ball, and taking long naps. She also takes her job of guarding her palace seriously, and will let you know with a bark if there is an intruder!
If you're looking for a low-energy pup with a queenly attitude, Aster might be the pup for you. Apply today!
Aster is currently being fostered in Manhattan, NY. Her adoption fee is $500.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
