Story
Looking for a new home for Scout. He's been a good boy for the 5 years I've had him, but he does show some behavioral issues with aggression. He's nervous around new people and barks. He's shown that he doesn't like being around kids, and becomes very anxious and fearful when children are around. Otherwise, he's a good companion and would do great one-on-one or with a couple. A fenced in yard or room to run around would be great! Scout has lived with a cat and has met other cats and loves them! When meeting dogs, it varies. A lot of it is unknown, because I've been cautious and haven't put Scout in a variety of situations. I adopted Scout when he was a year old and he's now six. Rehoming is an absolute necessity or I wouldn't part ways with Scout.

Shelby is a happy sweet girl that loves being outside. She laid back and loves to just chill. She does get along with others but prefers to be the only one as she loves being the center of attention. She walks well on a leash and enjoys long walks.

Story
Bindi is a brindle beauty that weighs about 54 lbs and is 2.5 years old. Binda has not had any easy life. She was found back in December of 2023, abandoned in a baseball field in Houston with 2 other dogs. Somebody had locked all 3 dogs in the park, with no access to food, water or shelter for days. Animal control didn’t have room for them, and no rescues wanted to help the 3 dogs. A good Samaritan took all 3 dogs under her wing and put them in boarding, thinking she would find help for them, and never did. She reached out to us for help with the remaining 2 (1 she was able to rehome). The options now for the remaining 2 are to be surrendered to animal control, where it is more likely they will be euthanized. Bindi and Owen are the remaining 2 of 3. Bindi is more social than Owen, her friend is. She is very mellow but can be active and playful. She gets her zoomies and starts running all over the yard in pure excitement. Bindi gets quite bonded to her human. She would be a great dog for someone wanting a loyal companion, a shadow to follow them around. She loves to cuddle. One of her favorite activities is lying on the couch with her humans watching TV – and she WILL watch TV the whole time. She is very easily amused and entertained by what’s showing. She doesn’t have any favorite shows… yet. Bindi loves to go on walks and does great on her leash. She would make a fantastic partner to go on hikes or adventures with. She does wonderful with dogs who are not crazy hyper. Bindi is quite confident and would do well in a home with other dogs or alone, she doesn’t mind either way. She would be great with children. She is very food motivated and LOVES her treats. She will make sure you know if you’re late on a meal. Bindi is crate trained and does great on car rides. Bindi is spayed, heart worm negative, current on rabies vaccine, bordatella, and parvo distemper vaccine. She is also current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormed, microchipped and will get a clean bill of health from the veterinarian prior to transport. Story
Howl-dy-ho folks! Bodacious Bodine here letting you know I am officially looking for my own home, sweet, home. Just over a year ago, I was found hiding, sick with infections, loaded with parasites and autoimmune issues. My handsome face was raw, as were my feet, elbows and back end. Everyone thought my days were numbered, but that didn’t matter to The Animal Support Project. Even while I was in pain, they could tell I was a loving boy with a strong will to live, and they were determined to give me the best days they could before I moved on to the happy hunting ground in the sky. But yeehaw! Instead we discovered the root cause of my health problems was just allergies, and they are now under control. I hear modesty is an affliction some dogs suffer from, but not this joyful, gregarious “life-is-a-party” hound. Can you believe how great I look now? Those days are just a distant memory because I am doing fantastic - living large and lovin’ life! I am a sincere, intelligent, eager-to-please kind of guy, but like all pups I blossom with a kind but firm, consistent human partner. I can show you how hard a dog will try to learn and do his best with positive reenforcement. In fact, as proof, I recently passed my Canine Good Citizen exam! I have been told I have an endearing personality, and continuously win people over with my charm! I do adore attention and don’t always grasp the concept of personal space, but a gentle reminder, maybe with a bonus butt scratch, brings me right back to being a gentleman. I am definitely not a subdued city boy and need a country home where I promise to excel at fenced perimeter patrol. I am a scent hound so will be happy to alert, chase and tree any marauding varmints. If you stroll over to take a look and tell me what a “good job” I’ve done protecting my homestead, I will be so proud to have completed my mission, I will just want to hang out with you again. Pack breeds like me are very social. I do not enjoy being separated from the rest of the household. I love all people, whether friend or stranger. I am young and still excitable though, and can occasionally be jumpy or mouthy, so I need a home with older children. I also am an exuberant player so would do best with another uninhibited dog, although I have done well adapting my play style to suit the smaller, older dogs in my foster home. I do not do well in a crate but I do respect gates and am also fine being left loose in the house. I will just enjoy a well-deserved siesta loyally waiting until my family comes back home. I am quite a speedy fellow and can run like the wind if tempted by the right scent. I also am not road savvy because my head is usually down - due to my nose insisting on some serious ground sniffing. Therefore, I require a 4-6 foot sturdy fence because like most hounds, I also have wanderlust. That could be how I got lost in the first place and I never want to be that sore and sick again. Do you savor in nature's glory like me? Like long walks or hikes? Like to play outside or snuggle on the couch? Do you have allergies or know someone who does and understand their significance? Want to love this good, ol’ hound boy forever? Contact The Animal Support Project to see if we would be a good match. http://www.theanimalsupportproject.com/contact-forms/ Thanks for listening y’all!

Story
Looking for a happy-go-lucky boy who just wants to go on adventures? Maple might just be your guy. He is a three-year-old Plott Hound who has enough energy for the whole family. He is very typical of the breed with his friendly disposition and desire to run and play. He does well with dogs, has lived with a cat before, and does well with children who are used to large, energetic dogs. He would love a home with Hound experience who understands their needs to thrive. Please visit the following link on our website to learn about Second Chance's adoption process. http://www.2ndchanceanimalcenter.org/adoption.html August 16, 2024, 2:54 pm
