Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mika arrived from Puerto Rico with her travel companions, and we are delighted to have this bundle of happiness.   Mika is a Sato dog which is a street or beach dog from Puerto Rico. The Sato refers to a variety of small to medium-sized stray dog. Satos are similar in appearance to small Pointers or Terriers. These free-ranging dogs are known to make excellent family pets. Unlike other feral dogs, the Satos have a small territory, and many are always in contact with people.  Mika was referred to as a Labrador/Plott Hound mix by the veterinarians who vetted her in Puerto Rico. Whatever she is, she sure is sweet. Mika is described by the folks who cared for her at Punta Santiago who rescued her as "amazing with dogs of all sizes, super people friendly, and having no food aggression." She is very happy and friendly and will make a perfect lap dog for some lucky family. Mika is approximately a year old and cat tolerant with supervision. We are looking for an adoptive family or foster home. Mika's adoption fee is $500.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Due to a family member being severely ill and needing a caretaker his current owner is not able to properly care for this pup. Gator is a 41 lb, 1.5 y/o plott hound/boxer mix who was rescued one day before he was to be euthanized at a high kill shelter in Texas. He is up to date on all of his shots, microchipped and neutered. He passed his well puppy visit with no issues or concerns. He is still a puppy at heart and loves to play. He is housebroken and a snuggler. We have been working on breaking him from using his mouth to communicate(nibbles and likes to chew). With a stern no or showing of a spray bottle he stops. He has not been around cats but does like other dogs. He has plenty of energy which means he could topple over small children. He has been around them but doesn't realize he is bigger so a home with no young children would be ideal. He is a good guard dog but doesnt endlessly bark. He is very good in his crate when humans not watching him. He is a typical toddler pu

Story
Maple is a rescue from Georgia. My mother-in-law has had her since she was 1. She is moving out of state and the community does not accept dogs. We have 2 small children and not enough time and attention for her. She is sooo sweet though. Just wants love. She is a barker, but has never been aggressive. We have a big family with 6 kids under 4 and she’s never had an issue. Very low maintenance, she is not high energy at all. House broken, good listener. Can walk off leash but will take off after a deer.

CHANCE MUST BE ADOPTED SOON AS HIS FOSTER MOTHER CANNOT KEEP HIM MUCH LONGER! Let me introduce Chance, one of the coolest dogs in our rescue! His foster mother has medical issues, and she wants him to find his furever home ASAP! This awesome guy was abandoned in the woods, alone in the middle of nowhere, when he was still a puppy – scared and left to die young. He is extremely sweet. Chance loves toys and playing fetch - playtime is high on his wish list. He is very friendly, never meets a stranger, and loves absolutely everyone he meets. He still has a puppy spirit and needs activity & exercise! He would be great for an active family that hikes or runs, as long as there are cuddles and belly rubs. His leash walking is progressing well. He gets along well with other dogs with proper introduced. He will be happiest as a loving family companion. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We'll transport to a destination near you every weekend, alternating between the Northeast and the Great Lakes.

Story
Star was rescued in Louisiana. A lady that found her called me and said that she could not find a rescue group in Louisiana to take her. She had a gunshot wound through her jaw and ear. She was in pain. She brought her to me in Mississippi, and I got her the medical treatment that she needed. She had jaw surgery, and now her tongue permanently hangs out. We think this makes her uniquely special!! I know that her tongue hanging out may be a deterrent for a permanent home, but Star is such a sweet baby. She cannot help it that somebody shot her. She is a Catahoula hound, and her tail is docked. Star is a very sweet and loves to ride in the car. She loves dogs, and she loves children. She loves to roll over for a belly rub, and she knows the sit command. She is extremely smart. She loves to load up and ride in the car, and I believe that she was somebody’s baby at one time! Star has been in foster care and boarding for a while, and she wants a forever home! Also, if you live out of state, we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We alternate between the Northeast and the Midwest every other weekend. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee.
