Ruger is the ultimate couch companion—he loves lounging with his favorite toys, often bringing them up onto the couch to chew on while fully embracing his inner couch potato! Ruger gets along with other dogs and enjoys playtime with friends. He’s fully potty trained and is making great progress with kennel training. Overall, he’s a loving, affectionate pup with a heart of gold! Right now, Ruger is enrolled in a 4-6 week board and train program to help him learn that he is safe. Ruger’s trainer says he is just such a sweet and goofy guy! With a solid daily routine of exercise, enrichment, and structured training, Ruger is learning to settle both in the kennel and in the home. He’s working on leash skills, thresholds, place work, and basic obedience, and has been doing great with other dogs of all sizes. Ruger plays like a typical adolescent pup and takes redirection well. He’s learning how to relax and self-regulate and continues to impress his trainer with his progress and lovable personality. When I was born, I assure you I didn't want to grow up to be left in a high kill shelter, however, that is what happened to me. LUCKILY, the fates (and some awesome rescue folks) aligned and saved me from certain death and brought me to a safe place where I can find a REAL family and a REAL home. Let me tell you about myself, I am cute, happy, loving, nervous at times, but have the long legs of a pointer! Hello… Zella here. I’m an energetic nearly 2 year old pit mix. I’m a girl who likes slow introductions to my new home and canine siblings. I prefer dogs that are more submissive. I need an experienced owner who can read dog body language. I’m a happy girl who loves to explore, so I need a secure fence. I’m learning to regulate myself when I get overly stimulated, but would love your help with this. I’ve been good with people of all ages. I have used a harness or Gentle Leader when out walking. Hi! I'm Brady! I'm from Kansas. From his foster: Brady is a stunning, exuberant, and affectionate pointer mix. Brady is a lot of fun! He is estimated to be 4 years old but still has a lot of puppy energy. He's happiest when playing, exercising, and learning. He requires physical and mental stimulation to thrive. Brady benefits from strong leadership and training. He is a dog who will bond strongly with his owner/leader. He completed a 6 week basic obedience training with his foster mom. He's learned his house manners and we're now working on leash skills and building confidence. He's a super smart boy. Brady attends dog day care once per week and does great! If you enjoy the loyalty and athleticism of working breeds, this handsome boy may be for you! Brady is a bit fearful of new situations. But once be feels safe, he's very affectionate. Has a teenager in his foster home, who he gets on great with. Not recommended for young children due to his strong play style. Brady likes his crate can be left for a few hours at a time. He is never crated all day and we do not leave him outside his crate when alone. A fenced yard would really help to keep Brady active, as would a dog companion. But not required if there are other options for exercise & engagement. From the vet team: Brady was found to be lyme positive. It is currently not causing any issues for Brady and likely a pre-existing condition.
