Story
If you’re reading this, we here in the rescue already know you’re a special person. It takes a very special, kind, loving, extremely caring person to consider adopting an adult/senior dog. The world needs more people like you and dogs like Gunnar need people like you. Gunner’s family has decided they would like to rehome him through no fault of his own. Gunner might be a little set in his ways, but who isn’t at this age? Gunner would be great with an older couple, no other dogs and not lots of small kids in and out. He is not a huge fan of little dogs. He hasn’t ever bitten anyone or anything, but has snapped at some smaller dogs who get on his nerves 😂. We could easily put you in touch with his current family and they can tell you all about him if interested. This guy just needs a great home to live out the rest of his days and in and a family that won’t turn their back on him again. Once adopted, Gunner will travel via Rescue Vet Transport to his new family. They travel each and every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make Gunner part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Our turnaround time is typically less than 24 hours so please be prepared before you submit your application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Terin is our tall, Setter possible mix. This resident mom came to us a few months ago with her 6 chunky pups. Her pups are all growing up in their new homes and she’s still waiting… we had interest in her when her pups still needed her, but now crickets.

Story
Riley is a one year old Pointer mix that is about 36 pounds. His foster family absolutely loves this sweet boy. When Riley first came to our rescue, he was terrified and anxious. Through lots of work and the dedication of volunteers and some time in a loving foster home, Riley has blossomed. He is house trained and knows basic commands like sit, stay, and down. He is a great leash walker and loves to play with his foster dog siblings. While Riley loves a good hike or game of fetch, he also loves to snuggle on the couch. Riley loves going for walks and is very food motivated. Although Riley can be timid when meeting new people, he warms up quickly especially when treats are involved. Riley would love a home with a dog sibling and a family that will continue to build his confidence. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Sash's story began in 2013 when he arrived at Pets Alive from a rural shelter in Georgia with very few resources. While a rockstar in doggie playgroups, Sash has kept his human circle of friends very small. Over the years, his circle of human friends has grown, and we continue to work on expanding it. Meanwhile, he enjoys his doggie playgroups and teaching other dogs how to be the best doggie friends they can be! Sponsorships allow us to do what we do best: always being there for the pets in our care. Sash is one of those that shows the lifetime commitment Pets Alive makes. If you would like to sponsor his care, please click the link here: https://www.petsalive.com/sponsor.html We appreciate any help that allows us to continue doing what we do best: caring for our animals!

Story
Our pretty little girl is called Cora and what a loving and sweet little Pointer mix girl she truly is.  She loves playing with other dogs and sleeping in the bed with her foster mom.  This little girl was one of 8 puppies left in an outdoor pen and basically abandoned by the former owner when they loved.  Neighbors stopped by for 3 months to feed and water the puppies and sadly that was all.  They grew and grew and eventually started fighting over the little food they had and the small pen was just so confining. One of the great Critter Cavalry Rescue foster moms heard of their plight and went to get them out of their hot, and confining pen that offered no exercise and not enough food daily…and NO HUMAN LOVE.  Now Cora and her siblings are seeking homes where they can spread their wings and bask in the love and care of their new families.  Cora is remarkably loving and fun and seems to not have been emotionally stunted by their early months of growing up abandoned.  We know that she loves other dogs!  She plays with a 45 pound black lab male that is a year old and “Her and Bo are like two peas in a pod”.  They absolutely love playing together, tug of war, chasing each other in the yard, or just sleeping in the dog bed together.  Cora is good with cats and loves the young children that are in the home, even with all their noise and high energy play.  She is almost there with her potty training and she is good with being in the crate at times needed.  Cora relates to people and loves them.  She always needs to be right by someone and loves to lay on your feet. She has learned not to be possessive of her good or toys as she first started out being.  We totally understood the possessiveness and now she is relaxed and eager to share.  This pretty girl and her siblings have come such a long way.  We are so happy for them to be in out foster care and receiving the love that they so readily deserve.  If you really want to adopt a “rescued dog” then Cora is the total definition of a rescued puppy! If you are interested in making her your own please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com!!! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 2:03 pm
