Story
Meet Jayla – Your Fun-Loving, Fluffy Best Friend! Jayla is a petite, playful pup with a silky-soft coat and a ton of energy! She’s always ready for an adventure, a game of fetch, or a zoomie session, and she’ll need an active family who can keep up with her lively spirit. Once she’s burned off her energy, Jayla turns into the sweetest cuddle buddy, happy to curl up for some well-earned snuggles. She can be nervous at first and would do best in an adult home or with older teens. Her beautiful coat requires regular grooming, so her perfect match will be someone committed to keeping her looking and feeling her best. If you're looking for a fun, fluffy, and affectionate companion, Jayla coule be the one for you!

Story
Ernie is a fluffy little guy with a big personality! He came to us after he accidentally chewed a corded and got zapped, but he is on the road to recovery. Ernie is a little nervous at first, but once he settles in he is a nice snuggly boy. Ernie isn`t a fan of being alone so he is looking for a home where his people are home more often than not. He likes to go for walks and play with toys and might be able to live with an easygoing dog friend. If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog that’s a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they’re interested in - and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Story
Yogi is a 4 -year-old pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart—but he needs the right home to truly thrive. He is deeply loyal and bonds closely with one person, but he can be highly territorial and protective of his space. He loves attention, playtime, and affection, but he also has strong emotions and doesn’t like his belongings being touched (such as his crate, bed, or blanket). Unfortunately, due to changes in our family dynamic and having young children, we are unable to give Yogi the structured environment and dedicated training he needs. He can be stubborn when it comes to house training and food manners, and he requires patience and consistency. He has shown possessiveness and has bitten when feeling threatened, so he is not suited for a home with small children. Yogi would do best in a calm, mature household with experienced dog owners who understand territorial behavior.

An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
