Story
Age:   approx 1 1/2 years old   Weight: 13  lbs My adoption fee is $ 450  which includes transportation charges to the Northeast.   Heather was treated for heartworm and is now negative.  Heather has been in foster care for awhile because she is a very nervous girl.  Not agressive, just scared.  She is doing better with this but her new owner must realize that she will need time to feel comfortable. If you serious about adopting, the first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website:   https://www.smalldogrescuene.org/March 8, 2025, 4:50 pm

Please contact Jetta (Jetta.elliott@att.net) for more information about this pet.Red 3 year old male PomeranianJessie is a Pomeranian that was rescued from a puppy mil in 2023. He was very shut down and has been in the Foster‘s home to help him come back around to trusting people. He’s a little shy now, but he is well adjusted and happy and friendly. Bloodwork shows his heartworm negative. He’s neutered up-to-date on vaccinations and microchip. He is currently located in Harrison, Arkansas, but would be brought to your location via the rescue network transport. Story
Say hello to Louie, a 10-pound Pomeranian mix with the face of a movie star and the house manners of... well, a work in progress. This charming little dude is friendly with people, gives a polite “hello” to visitors at the door, and does okay with other dogs. He’s not clingy and isn't trying to be your shadow (or your lap warmer). Louie’s got his own thing going on — think of him as that cool, aloof guy in a rom-com who secretly just needs the right person to believe in him. Now, full disclosure: Louie is currently in his “diaper era” due to some enthusiastic indoor marking. But good news — he’s getting neutered on 4/23/35, and we’re crossing all paws that it’ll help him kick the habit. He’s not super into food, not big on going outside (you may have to bribe or dramatically plead), and hasn’t quite nailed the whole “potty training” concept yet… but LOOK at that face! If you're patient, have a sense of humor, and are ready to help this handsome boy unlock his full potential, Louie might just be your perfectly imperfect prince. Adopt him and become the hero of his glow-up story! If you are interested in finding out more about Louie, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Louie is being fostered in Clinton, MA. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Rocky! Rocky is a three-year-old, 27 lb Pomsky (per his previous owner) looking for an experienced and dedicated home. He was surrendered locally after his previous owners failed to provide him with the training, boundaries, and structure he needed to thrive. They saw a cute, fluffy dog and assumed love alone would be enough—it wasn’t. Because of this lack of leadership, Rocky developed resource guarding with high-value items and has bites on record. However, he has been working hard with Rise & Shine K9 on Martha’s Vineyard, where he is learning the structure and guidance he was never given. Travel to the island is required for his meet and greet. Continued training is also required for Rocky. Rocky is dog and cat friendly, but absolutely no children for him. He needs a strong, confident owner who will set firm boundaries and continue his training. Notably, Rocky responds better to men when it comes to structure and listening. That said, with the right handler, Rocky is an incredible companion—he would make an excellent hiking buddy, work partner, and all-around loyal pal for someone who will give him the leadership he needs. Rocky does great out and about being social, he's a star at the local bark park!  If you are an experienced handler who understands the importance of structure and training, Rocky may be the right fit for you. Apply today!     is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (puppies under the age of 6 months may not be sterilized prior to adoption, if this is the case your adoption coordinator will discuss the process with you). To adopt or learn more about: , you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, visit our website: WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM ** PLEASE READ: If a dog/puppy is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. In some cases this dog may be pending an adoption already, and their profile has not been updated yet. Please note, SPR does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated otherwise. All breeds listed are educated best estimates by transferring shelter staff, our volunteers or our vets. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort. If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation. To learn more about our rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of FAQ’s on our website at WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM **The FIRST step in adopting an animal from our rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.
