Story
Hi everyone, my name is Louie and I am a very handsome 3 year old Chihuahua Pug mix. I was found as a stray. I am sweet as can be and I havea wonderful personality! Right now I am in a program called HOPE in Harrisburg. I was a little timid when I first arrived, but now, a week in, I feel extremely comfortable and have made new friends. Even with all the other dogs being MUCH bigger than me, I play like a big dog and will put other dogs in their place, if needed.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is a courtesy posting. Please call 410-627-6563 for information.Beignet (Nay-nay and BB), Pug-Boston Terrier mix, born estimated April 2023, 25 lbs Say Bonjour to Beignet, a spunky and sweet doughnut of a dog. She is active and fun-loving, yet enjoys snuggling in at night for a good movie and night nights. She’s happy go-lucky with a cute habit of parading around proudly with a toy in her mouth. She’s quick to make friends with other dogs. People win her over easily. She’s lived with dogs of all sizes and a toddler. Brains? Yep, she has them. She is smart and trained. Completed an obedience boot camp with flying colors. Personality? Loving. Spunky. Determined. Good with other dogs? Yes! She would love a doggie sibling who is active and likes playing. Cats? Eh. A tolerant, patient, dog-savvy cat would be OK. Beignet gets very excited around cats. Not in a way to be aggressive but overwhelming to the cat. Ideal Family? Someone home a lot as she likes to be with her people, preferring to be your shadow than an aloof couch potato. An active family who would take her for walks, runs, hikes, whatever. Ideal Setting/Home? Must have fenced yard for her remaining puppy vibe to get out the zoomies. She barks at strange noises making apartment living not ideal. Background? Beignet was surrendered by her owners for no fault of her own. She was adopted from a shelter to be a friend for an older dog. Sadly, when that dog passed, Beignet seemed more of a burden than a comfort.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 5, 2024, 3:22 pm

Story
Hi! My name is Bella I'm a 12 year old pug who's looking for my forever family. I am in foster because my person had some issues and couldn't care for me anymore. My foster mom says I am such a good girl, housebroken and crate trained. I love to take walks on a leash and love to snuggle and watch tv. Because I'm an older girl I had to get a physical and bloodwork and Dr says I have years ahead. I do have some dry skin and an ear infection that I'm being treated for so I'll be all ready to start my new life. I do not hear well but definitely follow hand directions. Even though I'm older I still have lots of love to share. Adoption process 1. Review our adoption contract and application. 2. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Grady is a pug/boston terrier/boxer, is 5yo, weighs 32lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped.  Grady knows 'sit' and 'off'; he is kept in a gated area with his bed during the day; he is kept in a gated area with his bed and blankets at night; he has a hard time sitting still during car rides.  Grady is fed Purina Pro Plan Complete Essentials Shredded Blend Turkey and Rice Formula High Protein Dry Dog Food.  Grady's guardian adds:  "He loves to sit on the couch with you and snuggle.  He is not a dominant dog.  He has always been with another dog to play with, but we feel he would also be ok as a single dog.  Does well with puppy interaction." Grady's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him:   "Grady is a bit of an anxious guy.  He has a hard time relaxing. When it is just my husband, he will be calm and relaxed.   When I come home Grady paces, whines and can’t relax.   His anxiety and my husbands increasing anxiety over the years no longer are compatible.   We have tried training and currently have him on Reconcile for anxiety."   Grady's guardian offers a brief a medical history:  Grady's guardian administers 3 medications for various ailments; for anxiety, Reconcile; for itchy skin, Apoquel; for seasonal allergies, Zyrtec." Grady's guardian states the following regarding children:  Grady lives with children (ages 7, 9, and 10), so his guardian recommends his living with children, stating:  "Initially, he barks and is very excited.  Over time he calms down and tries to sit beside/wants to be petted". Grady's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Grady lives with a dog, so his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "Grady is reactive to other dogs.  He will bark during walks". Grady's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Grady doesn't live with nor otherwise has interacted with cats, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats. Grady's guardian describes him as: Playful Likes to be touched Always at your side Indoor dog Nervous House-Trained Crate-Trained Separation anxiety Grady's guardian describes his ideal future home: "Grady needs a home with a yard where he can run and play fetch—he’s amazing at it!  Also would be great for someone who is active that would take him for walks.  He would need someone that allows couch cuddling.  Would not be a good fit for someone with anxiety.  Needs to be with someone that can be patient with his barking at the Amazon delivery man." Story
Oscar is heading to Maryland from Mexico (via Texas) and we're sure he's thrilled to finally be an inside dog. He's arriving 7/28 will not be available for adoption till his two week decompression is done. He's approximately 2 years old, neutered and crate trained. His TX foster reports he will alert when he needs to go out to take care of business. Oscar doesn't bother or pay attention to the cats in the foster home. He's calm and doesn't bark. He loves running around in the yard, loves his toys and his walks. He will only be adopted to a household that already has a friendly and tolerant dog; he loves to play. As always, we never promote our dogs as house trained or allergy friendly. Interested in adopting Oscar? Click this link to get started: https://bit.ly/4d7XoKd (Just make sure to read the first page in its entirety!) Adoption area: We prioritize homes within 45 miles of Silver Spring, MD. However, fantastic matches in PA, NJ, NY, and WV will be considered!
