Story
🐾 Meet Angel: The Queen of Couch Potatoes! 🐾 Are you looking for a four-legged friend who's mastered the art of relaxation? Look no further than Angel, our distinguished senior Pug/Chihuahua/Terrier mix! At approximately 14 years young and a perfect 25lbs, Angel is here to show you that age is just a number when it comes to living your best life. Angel's Stats: Age: 14 (but don’t let that fool you, she’s got the wisdom of a sage and the sass of a teenager) Weight: 25lbs (all of it pure love and a little extra underbite) Breed: Pug/Chihuahua/Terrier mix (a.k.a. the best of all worlds) Why You'll Love Angel: Dog-Friendly Diva: She gets along great with other dogs! Your furry friends will thank you for this wise and witty addition to the pack. Cat's Coolest Friend: Mostly indifferent to cats, she’ll let them rule the roost while she rules the couch. Kid-Approved: Angel is wonderful with kids! She’s the perfect grandma dog who’s always up for a gentle pat and a kind word. Professional Lounger: 98% couch potato, 2% playful pupper. She’s your go-to gal for binge-watching marathons and lazy Sundays. Potty Pro-ish: Mostly housebroken but needs frequent potty breaks. (Hey, who doesn’t?) Foodie Alert: Very food-driven! Keep her crated when unsupervised, and she’ll be the best-behaved pup around. Leash Legend: Walks politely on a leash and enjoys a short stroll or two every day. She does have mild arthritis, so slow and steady wins the race! Crate Queen: Settles well in her crate, making her a dream for those times when you need a break. A++ Underbite: Her underbite is so exquisite it deserves its own fan club. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application  HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see  HERE Age: 7 years Weight:  29 pounds This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Mama Tread is an adult pug mix who showed up one day with Lily and Louie Locket, who are also available for adoption from SOS. Mama Tread is living in a very active foster home with an adult couple, a pre-schooler, four dogs, three cats, and chickens. She is fully integrated into the home, although she and the other dogs stay in an outdoor pen when the resident adults are working. Mama Tread is sometimes a little nervous around the other dogs, but increasingly, she is playing with them. She tends to ignore the resident cats and other small animals, but she has been friendly and playful with all of the people she has met. Sometimes, Mama Tread likes to bark at the other dogs and do some running and chasing, but her favorite hobby is digging holes! When she visits new places, she can be timid or anxious, at first, until she feels comfortable. In general, she is a quiet and calm girl, although she will alert bark and watchdog bark. It makes her very happy to cuddle with her people. She has started her house, crate, and leash training, and is making great progress. She rides calmly in cars. However, Mama Tread is an escape artist, and she can effortlessly climb over a three to four foot fence. So, it is very important to pay close attention to her whenever she is outside and unleashed to make sure that she will be safe. We recommend training for all of our dogs, because you get to learn the commands together and it also helps you bond with your new friend! Mama Tread is an extremely pleasant and resilient dog who is going to be a wonderful companion to whomever is lucky enough to adopt her! Medical Note : This dog tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia while in SOS foster care. This does not mean that this dog had ehrlichia. This dog is/has been asymptomatic while in SOS care and was preventatively treated with a 28-day course of doxycycline. Please see here for more information on ehrlichia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ehrlichiosis_(canine). Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see  HERE  for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence.
