He is a loyal companion with a happy-go-lucky spirit and a few quirks that make him all the more endearing. Solomon has settled into a nice routine where he enjoys his walks. He’s not overly playful with other dogs, preferring to coexist peacefully, but he’s got a playful side that comes out when it’s just him, a tennis ball, and a patch of grass to roll around in. In the mornings, Solomon is quick to start his day, heading outside with his dog foster sibling for a potty break before coming back in for breakfast. He’s not one to spend long hours in his kennel, as he mostly sleeps or entertains himself in the house with his toys while his human works from home. By evening, he’s ready for dinner and some quality time snuggling up in bed, enjoying a good TV show. Solomon’s got some unique habits that make him special. When he’s in the mood for pets, he’ll wrap his long arms around your wrist—just his way of saying he’s ready for some affection. He loves looking out the car window, giving chin licks, and laying his head on your chest while sitting on the couch. When he’s excited, you’ll find him rolling around in the grass with pure joy. And when he’s tired, he’ll tuck himself into his kennel for the night, where he feels safe and comfortable. Solomon is a great committed companion. He’s adaptable, and would do well either as the only dog or with a small, calm canine friend. A home with an older couple who’s around a lot might be just the right fit for this sweet, quirky boy!  He has not been introduced to children or cats, young children may not be a great fit for him as he can get nervous around sudden movements and loud noises.  Solomon  is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 08/23/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Location: Sioux Falls, SD Harry is a handsome little dude that is really looking to settle into a forever home! Harry is good with dogs, cats, and kids. He is potty trained and crate trained. He knows sit (maybe a little better when a treat is involved!). He is in a crate when his foster family is not home, however, he was allowed to free roam in his previous home. He loves toys and bones! He does pretty well on a leash. He loves to sleep and cuddle with his people at night. He does get pretty excited to see his people, so does jump up, but he is so little- he does no harm. He likes to monitor activity on the street through the window, but generally does pretty well with re-direction. Welcome Stevie to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 16- month old Pughuahua is our best guess. He is a small dog at 15 pounds. He has a great appetite and isn’t picky on his food. He currently eats in his crate. He is very puppylike and playful. He loves the small dog tennis balls. He likes all toys and will take the fluff out of them if he can. He is good in a crate and currently best friends with a small female playful dog in his foster home. He likes to run and play. He is crate trained and, on a schedule, will do all business outside. He is learning the doggy door. He does respond to the word “no” and stops what he is doing when you say it. He is good in a car and now good on a leash. He is friendly with dogs after he meets them. He would prefer a family of small dogs or no dogs would also be fine. When he goes outside to do his business, he does like his family to stay out there while he does his business. He will not go in his crate and will bark when he needs to go while in his crate. He was found as a stray on the streets of San Antonio. He was picked up by a good Samaritan after her day’s work. She saw him before work and after work he was still there so she took him home. He is now in a CCPAL foster home getting his training so he will be ready for his new forever home. He is not a big shedding dog, has an adorable underbite and a very cute curly tail. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Meet Whimsy! She’s an adorable little pug mix about 3 years old and 10 pounds. Whimsy is a feisty little lady with so much love to give. She’s energetic and loves to play fetch with toys and run. She’s a dream on a leash, always looking for your clues about what to do next. She’s very eager to please and obedient. l do not think she’d had any exposure to potty training, but she’s learning quickly that when we go outside, we go potty. When she does go potty inside, it’s usually on a pee pad. She doesn’t love getting into her crate, but once there settles down quickly and sleeps a solid 8 hours in the crate with no issues. She hardly ever barks. She does need work on resource guarding from other dogs: food, people, favorite lounging spots and - to a lesser extent - toys.
