Story
Meet Lyla, a roughly 2-year-old female pug. Lyla came to our rescue through The Pug Queen Foundation in Los Angeles. Lyla was originally used for breeding in Mexico, but we don’t know much about her history. She’s had at least one set of puppies, but possibly more. She is an absolute love pug and follows her human around the house. She will paw at you for attention, and as soon as you sit down she is immediately on your lap. She has not been tested around cats or children, but she has a sweet demeanor. Lyla walks ok on a leash (some pulling), she is potty trained, and does ok in a crate overnight if she can see you. She would prefer to sleep in bed with her humans and would prefer to have access to the house or an area of the house while home alone. Lyla would do best in a home with someone who works from home, is retired, or with a family with opposite schedules as she has some separation anxiety. Lyla will need to go to a home who allows dogs on the furniture, as she jumps on the couch before her foster mom can sit down. Lyla is timid and extremely sensitive, she will need a quiet, and understanding home with gentle humans and other pets.  If you are interested in meeting her fell out an application today!  NY AG/MKTS RR 363Lyla is being fostered in BuffaloLyla's adoption donation is $650

Story
Meet Sandy Lou, a two year old female pug! Her petite size and frame makes us think she might be mixed with Chihuahua. Sandy Lou came to our rescue through The Pug Queen foundation in Los Angeleas. Sandy was originally pulled from a shelter in Mexico, so we don't know much about her history. She is full of spunk and energy, but settles down quickly for a good snuggle on the couch (even quicker if you have a blankie she can burrow under.) She loves to give "air kisses" and will gladly wrestle with an old sock if you have one to spare. Sandy has not been tested around cats or children, but she has a sweet demeanor and gets along well with the resident dogs at her foster home. Sandy Lou loves to go on walks, but pulls a bit so a harness is a must. She is mostly potty trained, with only having a few accidents in her foster home. She happly settles into a crate if you need to leave throughout the day, and sleeps well in it at night. However, she would prefer to sleep in bed with her humans, or anywhere you are sleeping if you happen to take a mid-day nap! Sandy will need to go to a home that allows dogs on the furniture, as she eagerly hops onto couches, chairs, and beds to be with her people. Sandy has a tendency to bark at those she doesn't know or new people in the house, but she's "all bark" (no bite or aggressive behavior!) and settles into a snuggle once she gets to know you. She is a little girl with a big personality! She would do well with a playful dog, a mellow canine companion, or as an only dog. Sandy will need patience and love until she realizes she is in a safe place. If you are interested in meeting her, please fill out an application! CHERRY is a well-behaved good girl who would fit into any home environment, she adjust very well.  I do not have a shelter and CHERRY is in my home along with her daughter.  She came from a friendly home environment that took good care of her and just did not think about the breeding, the dogs were considered their pets but they did not believe in spay/neuter. If you are interested in CHERRY or her daughter SUNNI please submit an application on the website below.  SUNNI is 4 months old and 6 pounds. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Story
The _____ transport came to us from Niagara Falls!  Joyful Rescues feels strongly that, because of the drastic dog overpopulation problem that resulted due to human behavior during the pandemic, that we  must do the responsible thing and focus our efforts in our own western NY region.  The population problem has also created an environment ripe for increased animal hoarding when good hearted humans take on more than they have the resources to care for them which is the case for the 9 dogs and 3 cats that arrived here in pretty rough shape.  A few of the dogs have no teeth and the others will need a dental, which we will do for them, and with this much neglect they will likely need a second dental in the near future so we want to be sure, if you choose to open your home to one of them, that you will be prepared for this cost.  Everyone's nails were overgrown, and the longer haired ones were terribly matted and even had some twigs embedded in the mats.  Any donations toward their care would surely be appreciated.  Some of them are a bit shy at first, but they've been through a lot and we feel given a bit of time they will be the loves of your life! Wattson was born about July 1, 2012 and weighs about ____ lbs.  Wattson is terribly sweet and is loving the human attention.  He is extremely good with the other dogs and the cats and did very well on the two-hour car ride here. We don't know about house training and until we can update with that information, we want to let you know there will likely be some work in that area and potty floor pads are always a good idea for these tiny dogs.  This funny little guy is absolutely sure that no matter what happens or where he is - life is just the best!  He has a sunny disposition, and he does enjoy telling you how he feels in a very odd way - but not by barking.  He really wants to talk to us and tries so hard.  Wattson has something a bit off with his back legs, likely luxating patellas that are so common with these small breeds.  He has probably been like this for a very long time and he manages to get around - it's just a bit different.  He's delightful and we are SO glad he is with us and you will be too!  He should be fine with children. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_300.00_. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html.
