He takes a hot second to warm up to new people, but once he does, he's as loyal as Velcro. Older, respectful kids who won’t scare his small self are a good fit. Leo can be a bit cautious around men and may feel more comfortable in a home with a female-only household. He'd also really love a canine sibling to play and snuggle with. Howdy folks, my name is Charley, and I was one of 13 dogs and puppies living in a San Antonio Texas home when our owner passed away. Her grown daughter was surprised to find us all and reached out to 4 Little Paws Rescue for help, and they did! We all went to various foster homes, all vaccinated, all microchipped, the adults spayed/neutered, and now most of us are ready to find forever families! I am a handsome Pug/Terrier/Chihuahua mix, about 2 years old, weigh 18 lbs and I’m a people dog. I get along with other dogs and am more alpha with my dog friends, but I excel at being with people. I am very kind towards toddlers and people in general and make an excellent couch buddy. I enjoy being by someone's side but I’m also independent and able to be on my own when the family leaves for work. I love going for walks, I only bark to alert, and I’m good in a kennel, whining only when I need to get out to potty. My foster mom says I’m sweet and friendly, shy with strangers, and love treats and playing with a ball. Howdy Doody, my name is Toby and I’m a handsome little Pug/Chihuahua mix about 1-year-old, weigh 15 lbs, and I was dumped in a neighborhood in San Antonio. In Texas, this is how you get rid of a dog when you don’t feel like spending money for vaccines or a neuter, and definitely not for a microchip or even a collar with a tag. You wouldn't want someone to be able to locate you and bring the dog back. Anyway, I was confused and terrified, shaking with fear when a lady picked me up with a towel, scared I would bite, but I didn't. That's not my style. A day or two later I decided she was nice and showed her my sweet and affectionate personality. It turns out I am a really nice boy, calm with a medium energy level and a go-with-the-flow attitude. I am shy when I first meet new people, but always nice about it and I make friends instantly with dogs and kitty cats. I love playtime and doggy toys, walks to the park, and snuggling beside you while we watch TV. I’ll stand on my hind legs and reach my arms way out asking to be picked up so I can hug my foster mom and share little kisses. She says I smile when I’m happy and am telling you to keep on petting me! I am about 90% housebroken, only bark to alert, well-behaved in a home, sweet and affectionate, easygoing, and totally handsome! I hear many wonderful families on the East Coast would be happy to have a sweet little dog like me, so I can't wait to meet them and get my life started!
