Name: George Breed: Pug Mix Gender: Male About George: Say hello to George, the 4-year-old Pug mix with a heart as gentle as his personality! George is the epitome of calm and collected, making him the perfect sidekick for anyone seeking a laid-back canine companion. He’s a social butterfly with other dogs and adores being pampered with pets from his favorite humans. This easygoing guy walks well on a leash and has proven to be a quick learner, making him a breeze to train. He’s also well-behaved in the car, so he’s ready to join you on all your adventures—just as long as they’re on the relaxed side! George’s ideal home is one where he can take his time settling in and adjusting to a new routine. He’ll thrive in a calm environment, whether as the sole star of the show or with a low-energy doggy buddy. Found wandering a busy avenue and initially thought to be lost, George’s rescuer soon realized he had been abandoned. Determined to find him a loving home, she’s now committed to helping George find his forever family. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing pup to share quiet moments and gentle companionship, George is your guy! They are currently in Mexico awaiting a family committed to a 10-day trial. If interested, please apply at www.northwestwagrescue.org. The adoption fee is $550 and includes up-to-date vaccines, a negative heartworm test, spaying/neutering, and microchipping. ##2108384##

Story
Bella is the sweetest pug I've met so far. She always wants to be the center of attention, on your lap or being held like a baby while you rub her tummy. It takes no time for her to warm up to new people and dogs. Because she wants all the attention she can show subtle signs of leaning towards a dominant role in the pack but nothing aggressive. Bella doesn't bark but she does a lot of talking (best description is a groaning growling throat noise) which makes her humans giggle. She doesn't have the best hearing but her vision is great and she will laser focus on all humans in her realm and she has the biggest puppy dog eyes. Bella has known her sister Barley her whole life and is loyal to her. Their relationship is so sweet and they play well with each other and others. Don't let her age fool you, she is a spunky playful senior and is just a joy to everyone she meets!

Story
Barley is an active senior who loves her Bella the most with her people and other furry friends a close second. She is more sensitive to new surroundings but warms up slowly over time. She loves giving kisses and head rubs are her favorite. She is learning to snuggle on the couch (something she wasn't allowed in her previous home) but mostly enjoys relaxing on her dog beds. She is showing a bit of weakness in her back area but it doesn't stop her from running and playing with Bella. She will leave a few poop nuggets now and then because her lack of feeling in that area sometimes sneaks up on her. We are learning that a potty routine cuts down on these little presents. She LOVES food so it makes for an easy reward when it comes to bathes, nails, ears, etc. Barley isn't a barker (she wasn't allowed to bark in previous home) but will talk to you once in awhile when something is on her mind. This girl is a gem and would fit in with most moderately active families that are willing to talk a bit louder when needed since her hearing isn't the best. But her eyes and nose are on point and she will watch you like a hawk!

Story
Ozzy is a 3-year-old rescue Pug looking for his special family or person to call his own! His foster family thinks he is the perfect blend of being an active/chill dog. Even though he's been through a lot recently, Ozzy has handled his transitions gracefully and with a brave face, much in part to his wonderful temperament and even-keeled disposition. So far, Ozzy has gotten along well with all other dogs he's met (male/female, large/small, etc.), young respectful children, and even cats! He loves to follow around his favorite person, and play with his soft plushy toys. Ozzy is currently working on his leash training and general manners, however he is super food motivated and eager to please. He is also potty-trained. How much more perfect can a dog get?! If you are looking for a family dog or new best friend, then Ozzy is surely your guy. He is warm, sensitive and the best little cuddler a person could ever want. Could it be you?

Story
SWEET boy Chuck is a wonderful, easy going, affectionate, OLD SOUL kind of guy, even though it seems he may have been used as a bait dog. When this 45lb, 6yr old darling was found as a stray, he had severe lacerations around his neck and head. Even though he was so kind and gentle as his wounds were treated and began to heal, he was placed on the shelter euthanasia list. After all he’s been through, we just couldn’t let that happen. We were able to get him out of the shelter but now Chuck lives in a boarding type of facility. We are desperately looking for a loving foster home until we can find him a caring, nurturing forever home. He is available for adoption, too. Chuck is a very calm tempered boy that will do best in an easy going home. He loves all people but an adult only home or one with teenagers will be best. And especially someone that will allow him to cuddle right up next to you and possibly even sleep on the bed. Even after all he’s been through, he still gets along with easy going female dogs, although it would be ideal if he is the only animal in the home. He’s good with dog savvy, easy going cats, too. He is the perfect couch potato dog for retired folks with visiting grandkids. Since he loves car rides, he would also be a great companion for someone that drives for a living. Besides car rides, he also enjoys exploring outside and sunbathing so he must have a 6ft or higher securely fenced yard. He will chase squirrels and raccoons so no critters for Chuck. He is house and crate trained so he can stay home for a reasonable amount of time. An experienced dog person is required. During foster, all supplies are provided.

Story
Tony Lozuto is a cute, 3 year old Boston Terrier. Tony is a bit nervous and has been sensitive about handling at the shelter. He's a laidback guy who is looking for a calm family. Tony would like a family who can be respectful of his handling preferences and read his body language. We are recommending a teen/adult only home for Tony. If you would like to meet Tony, please visit the shelter from 11am-5pm.
