Story
If you've been looking for an A+ doggo to add to your family, you can stop your search because you just found him! Meet Elvis! Elvis is a purebred Southern Speckled Goofball but the AKC would say "English Coonhound". Coonhounds are the perfect family dog. They love to join you for long walks, help you clean your dishes and curl up on the couch in the evenings. Well tempered and fun breed.  Elvis is crate trained, knows a couple basic commands (we'll be working on more), and *loves* cats, children, and other dogs. He is currently 45lbs but should be closer to 55lbs when at a healthy weight.  Elvis is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. He has a food sensitivity to red meat.  Apply to meet this handsome guy today! You won't regret it! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2298876##

Story
EJ is a fun, young hound. He needs someone active, with a big outdoor life that will take him on adventures. He is affectionate and loyal to those who show him love. He would prefer to be the only dog as he doesn't like to share. He is not good with cats or other smaller animals or small people. He really wants to be a working dog.   For more info about EJ and our adoption process please enclose your phone number with your inquiry or call Jacki at 941-587-4612. November 2, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. Courtesy post- Maggie is a 2 year old female Redbone Coonhound looking for a new home. She was more or less abandoned by her owner with a caring person, however she can’t keep Maggie. The person caring for her says- Maggie is very smart and loving. Has gotten along great with all dogs we have met and played with at the dog park. She did grow up with a cat but does not get along great with my 2 cats. She doesn’t hurt them but always on the chase. Maggie does need some training, will constantly jump on me and all people. Very vocal. She had been with her brother since being born until just last week. (Her brother has a home). We have interacted with small children at the dog park and she was very gentle, no jumping or pushing. That is as much as I have seen her with children. Adults she jumps up to lick faces. I have had her the last 3+ months. Every adult at dog park she jumps on. She has not had any accidents in the house until just recently when her brother first left. Otherwise she is very good. I’m gone to work every day, she makes no messes. She walks good on a leash, slight pulling but she walks a lot faster than I do. I do not trust off leash. Knows sit. She is being spayed soon and brought up to date on vaccines. In New England. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
