Story
Choi is one strong guy! Most of the time he is tough and determined, but once he accepts you into his circle he is a real cuddle bear. He is so very loyal. Choi enjoys spending his days doing lots of tricks for treats, playing ball, and getting all the pets he can. Sometimes he'll even sit on your lap! When we first rescued Choi he had no leash manners or training. His reactivity and protective behaviour was very intense. Throughout the months of working with him we have seen a huge change in Choi. He is extremely food motivated and enjoys structure. He would benefit from someone who is active, has experience with dogs of his demeanor, and will have the time to continue his training long term. Choi would do best in an adult only home with no other pets, in a quiet environment. He can still be reactive towards dogs, vehicles, and strangers at times. Choi could go to a home with teens depending on the family's experience as a whole.

Story
Nolan / Male / Approx. 10 months / 56 lbs / Rottweiler Mix / Good with Dogs / Good with Kids / No Cats Please / From Tennessee/ Fostered in Scarborough Meet Nolan! Nolan’s foster describes him as a sweet and goofy boy. He was surrendered with his sister to our partner in Tennessee and is now living with his fosters in Scarborough. In typical puppy fashion, he has a lot of energy and sometimes gets the zoomies. He loves to play with toys and chew on bones, but is also happy cuddling on the couch. His favourite toys are those that squeak. He can often be found happily pouncing around with his squeaky toys. Nolan is a little bit timid around new people, but warms up quickly and loves his trusted people. He is friendly, excitable, and affectionate when with his trusted people. Nolan has met some kids at events, and shows interest in them. His fosters believe that he could make a great family dog. His gentle nature seems indicative of being good with children. Of course, a proper meet and greet as well as respectful children will ultimately determine this. He would do well in most situations. Like many dogs, he would love a backyard to run around in, but is also content in most homes as long as his mental and physical needs are met. Nolan is very social with other dogs and would make a great addition to a family with a resident dog. He has not been tested with cats but does show some prey drive on walks towards squirrels and other small animals. For that reason, we think he’d do best in a home that is cat free. He gets two 45 minute walks per day, as well as plenty of backyard time for his zoomies. Still a puppy, Nolan is working on manners but is quick to learn and is food motivated. If he is properly exercised and given lots of enrichment, he is very well behaved. A smart boy-Nolan loves food related puzzles and games. He is potty trained and has not yet had an accident in the house. Nolan has not been left alone yet during the day. At night, he sleeps in his own room in his crate with the door open. He whines for a few minutes but settles quickly after that. Overall, Nolan is a pretty awesome goofy little guy. He would fit in well with many different types of families. If you’re interested in adopting Nolan, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Nolan’s adoption fee is $900. Story
The condition of Nina, our resilient warrior princess, upon her arrival was quite distressing. Evidently, she had embarked on a challenging journey. However, she found safety and security here at HSKL. Initially timid, she quivered at human touch-a natural response given her past experiences.Nina's body was frail, her coat patchy, and she bore painful sores that evoked a strong urge to comfort her. Furthermore, her ears required attention due to signs of infection. Yet, amidst these challenges, a glimmer of resilience shone through her, revealing a determination to heal, regain trust, and ultimately find a loving forever home. After weeks of tender, loving care, our darling Nina has begun to let her true personality shine. She's a true cuddle-bug, showering her favorite humans with affection and relishing those heart-melting moments of being stroked and petted. Activities that tickle her fancy? Rolling in the grass and taking leisurely strolls are sure to put a spring in her step. And let's not forget her newfound playfulness - she's been showing off her energetic side in the yard, to everyone's delight. While Nina's generally cool with her fellow four-legged friends, she does prefer being the queen of her castle. So, a home where she's the only pampered pooch would be ideal. And did we mention Nina's a smarty-pants? She's has had training and can respond to commands like "Place," "Lay down," "Sit," "Paw," and "Heel." Plus, she's a perfect lady on the leash. We would like Nina to go to a dog savy person that has experience working with these types of dogs and understands their language. Nina deserves to never feel the way she felt again and treated like the sweet girl she is.

Amor is the sweetest girl you will ever meet who loves lots of cuddles and is very affectionate. Our volunteers regularly spend time in her room cuddling with her and she truly appreciates it. She also enjoys going for walks with her people and is very playful. Unfortunately she does not get along with other dogs or cats and will need to be the only dog in the home. On her walks she can be reactive to other dogs, but she is learning to walk by them comfortably.

Domino needs an adult only home, with a fully fenced backyard. He is not good with other dogs, and will need to avoid them on walks. When meeting new people he will need slow introductions with his muzzle, as he can be protective of his home and his people. Domino knows a lot of obedience, and is very food motivated. Once he knows you he enjoys cuddling on the couch and playing fetch.
