Squiggy is a comical, ridiculous little dog who came to us after a dog fight bust. He's around 4 years of age and has been hanging out as a sort of sanctuary dog for a few years, but he's grown so much in that time that he'd do just fine in a home with people of his own. Squiggs is a little guy, maybe 40lbs, with goofy energy and the sweetest demeanor. He absolutely loves people and loves fun, and he's gotten so very close to making dog friends, but he's just too afraid of being attacked again and can't quite get there. It's such a shame what people call a sport, and this little guy had to pay the price of evil peoples' entertainment, he so deserved better.  So what's life with a former fighting dog like? Well, to be fair, he wasn't so much of a fighting dog as a target of other dogs. He's s little guy, and he's a happy guy, he visits with other dogs through barriers and play bows, he looks for all the world like a guy who is dying to play with other dogs, you'd never know by watching him what he's been through. Generally he's just a dog, he has no vices, he's super food motivated and loves to train. He'd absolutely adore finding a human who would trick train him and help him learn to binge watch Netflix. There's actually no management needed within the home, just crate and rotate if family comes with visiting dogs, he's totally fine with that life.  These guys are always hard to find a home for, not because they're anything other than a dog, but because media has scared people into thinking they're monsters. If you met Squiggy and someone called him a monster, you'd totally crack up, he's so not scary at all. Even with the cropped ears and black coat, he's just such a little goofball. Squiggy would love a fenced yard and a person to call his own. He'll follow you around the house and help you with all the things, then he'll flop down on his bed and chew his bones or hop up onto the sofa for a solid cuddle. He's a good little dog who deserves a human of his own, foster or adopter, either is fine. Ready to make a difference in the life of a dog who had a truly horrific start? Squiggy can't wait to hear from you! Visit southofthebully.com and fill out an application today. Our adoption fee is $300. This covers spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, all age appropriate vaccines, and any needed vet care. August 15, 2024, 5:47 pm

Good news, we have another one! Summer Squash is a joyous and delightful girlie, we're so thankful that we had an open foster to take her into his home when she landed at a local shelter. Dogs like Mama Squishie are just good for the soul. She's a friend to everyone she meets, she's easy around the house, she's gentle with kids, she had the best time making friends at a recent event, and she's just an all around good dog. Summer is around 2 years old and 55lbs, she's housebroken, crate trained, gets along beautifully with other dogs, adores kids and while she's not quite sure what a cat is, she thinks she might like to chase one and see what happens. She's a bit of an old soul in that she's a fairly young dog, but she's got a maturity about her that you usually see in a dog who's a few years older. Very cool personality, up for fun when there's fun to be had, content to watch the world go by when it's time to settle in for patio beers or bonfire time. Did you notice the blue eye? So pretty! Mama Squish has learned a bunch of obedience stuffs while she was catching up on all of her vetting, now she's ready to make your acquaintance and get on with the business of having a most wonderful life being the best Squash she can be. You wanna be her human? Visit southofthebully.com and fill out an application to adopt, she's looking forward to meeting you.   Our adoption fee is $300. This covers spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, all age appropriate vaccines, and any needed vet care. August 15, 2024, 5:47 pm

Once your application has been submitted, our Adoptions Team will be in contact shortly to set up a phone interview and a home visit. Are you looking for a dog who will gaze lovingly at you no matter how many days it's been since you've had a shower? Would you love a dog who listens with the most adoring stare no matter how hideous your singing is? Do you need a cartoon-y little pot roast of a dog who thinks you hung the moon no matter how bad your day has gone? Wanna spend your days with a dog who's a little bit shy, a little bit awkward and kind of a homebody? Fam, we got you! This is Dumpling, he's a kind and lovely soul with the sweetest smile and the best antenna ears. He's around 3 years old and 45 lbs, he's not seen a whole lot of the world, but he's having a really nice time with his foster going on adventure walks. Dumpling is the kind of guy who prefers quiet walks in the woods to rowdy dog bars or brewery trivia nights. He can fake it well enough, but really, he's the guy who brings a book to a party and likes to hang on the edges of chaos. He's just not a crowd kinda guy and we totally get that! That's not to say Dumpling isn't social, he loves his people and he gets along beautifully with his two foster sister dogs at home, he's just a humble guy who doesn't want to be the center of attention.  Dumpling is looking for a family who leans more towards the quiet life. He likes neighborhood walks and trips to Lowe's, he's housebroken, crate trained and non-destructive in the home, mostly he wants to follow you around and be with you. Kinda perfect, really. He's lovely with kids, though he does prefer them to be more on the easy going side, as one would expect. Dumpling is just a good little dude looking for a compatible family to call his own. Does this sweet, endearing, slightly awkward little guy speak to your soul? We'd love to set you two up for a happily ever after, head over to southofthebully.com and fill out an application today. Our adoption fee is $300. This covers spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, all age appropriate vaccines, and any needed vet care. August 15, 2024, 5:47 pm
