Story
Rex is one of those happy go lucky, loveable German Shepherds that is a rare offering in the rescue world.  A two year old, 75 pound young dog that is a victim of divorce.  Like children, he is having to adjust to a new lifestyle and he must be rehomed due to his dad moving in with parents who are already at their limit for dogs. Everyone is heartbroken. Rex loves everyone and is good with cats, other dogs and adores meeting new people. He is housebroken, crate trained and not a nervous nelly like some Shepherds can be.  He is still growing and can stand to add a few more muscular pounds as he becomes a more mature adult dog.  Broken hearted is what his owner will be when he goes  but Critter Cavalry Rescue has promised to find the perfect Shepherd savvy home for him with a fenced yard, and someone with the time and stability to give this boy all he deserves in life.  Rex is an eager and easy student to train to be a family’s “everything” dog.  Please know this breed before asking to adopt.  They are dogs that cannot be ignored and left alone for 10 hours a day.  They love challenges that are both mental and physical.  Rex is a love of a dog, with no aggressive tendencies at all but he needs to know boundaries and you MUST BE A LEADER to him.  He will pace at first in a new environment because that is what GSD breeds do.  Change is tough on their intelligent heart and soul.  He is a true treasure for his breed.  If interested, please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 10, 2025, 1:49 pm

Story
This Gentleman is T Bone! He is a Super smart guy who is Young at Heart and Spirit! He is a spunky Guy who is looking for his new family or person. Sadly, His human Dad passed away recently and now he is looking for his new family or person. T Bone is now by himself in an outdoor pen being cared for by his Dad's friends who have four Dogs of their own and feel that he deserves a family or person of his very own. T Bone is a healthy 9 yr. young neutered German Shepherd. Don't let his age fool you! He is a Happy Guy who loves to go for walks and walks well on leash. If you are looking for a walking or hiking buddy or a canine friend to share your farm or land, T Bone may just be your guy! He'd love a home where he can be your one and only. A fenced in yard or property where he can run and explore would be on the top of his bucket list. He is not yet house trained but is very smart and eager to learn. We are asking a rehoming fee to help insure he is adopted into a great home.

Story
Hades is a house trained silly boy. He knows his commands well and loves to play with his red egg. He is very protective of his loved ones. He still needs work with his socialization but loves to be outside and walk in the woods. He also loves bubbles. He does good with people, he will bark when he is nervous but when approached softy he can calm down. When not beyond his threshold he is ok with dogs at a distance. He likes being in the kitchen and pawing for food but he knows better than to get on the counter. He is very playful and loving no doubt. He is about to become one year on Jan 21st. He will bark when he hears an unsual noise but he does stop. Hades was acquired as a puppy at 10 weeks from a family that had a litter. Currently I am faced with the sad decision of rehoming him because of costs. The ideal home for him would be wide space, a fenced big backyard and a cozy space for him to rest inside the home. Where he can get all the love & attention he deserves.

Story
Cody is a wonderful dog that craves love and attention! He has grown to be quite a big dog but is a puppy at heart and often spends his time sunbathing, playing with his cat and human siblings and adoring his owners. Cody loves to go on walks and spend time with his family but does tend to get anxious when there is a lot of changes happening. His anxiety shows through him pacing around following his owners and his human sibling to ensure that they are okay. Cody does excellent with children and has never once caused any harm to our three year old. Cody was diagnosed with juvenile epilepsy early on in his life and has remained on medication since. He rarely has seizures with consistent medication and gives us no issues to take the medication. Overall he is a wonderful dog looking for a home with a yard for playing or owners who are active and will give him the time and attention that he both craves and deserves.

Story
OR Missy came into our care after being spared from euthanasia at a local shelter. Initially, she was very nervous and shut down in her kennel but once she was in her foster home, her true personality began to shine! While Missy is still a little nervous around new people and dogs, it’s simply out of initial fear and lack of confidence. She is currently living in a foster home with five other dogs of varying ages, sizes and personalities. She even gets along well with the three cats in the household. Missy hasn’t been around children yet, so we're unsure how she'll react but she’s already shown so much progress with patience and time. Missy’s resilience has been truly inspiring. She is adjusting well to indoor life, making great strides with crate training and potty training. She walks well on a leash and will continue to improve as she gets more exposure to different environments. At just one year old and weighing in at 33 lbs, Missy is the perfect size for a family looking for a loving companion. She does have a condition called microphthalmia, where her right eye is smaller than usual but it doesn’t cause her any issues and certainly doesn't take away from her beauty—it only adds to her unique charm. Missy is now ready for her forever home and would love to find a family who can appreciate her sweet, resilient nature.

Story
Oliver was found by Columbia Animal Services on 2/1/24. He is believed to be about 4 years old weighing just under 80lbs and was neutered at the shelter on 2/9/24. Columbia Animal Services shelter is running at almost max capacity frequently and dogs that do not get adopted out risk euthanasia at the shelter. We are currently fostering Oliver to get him out of that environment. Oliver is very smart, he knows commands like sit, lay-down, shake, stay. He is house trained and has not needed to be crated when we are not home. He gets along well (for the most part) with our 2 dogs. He is also amazing with our 9yo son. They bonded immediately and Oliver follows him everywhere and sleeps in his room.

Story
We love our Teddy boy - that is why we are not listing an adoption fee because anyone would be lucky to have him in their lives. That said, my husband and I just had our first child and Teddy is a dog that needs to run and be outside more often than the time we can dedicate to him right now. We are looking for the RIGHT family for Teddy. He is a mut (boonie dog we adopted from Guam 4 years ago). He is sweet and has the biggest personality (he has a lot to say someone would need to be comfortable with barking or willing to train him) - that said he will keep you entertained and laughing all day long. He gets along great with other adult dogs, but puppies seem to annoy him a bit. Teddys perfect day would be sleeping in until 10am, slowly waking up and going outside (hes very good being off leash but I suggest a large fenced in yard or a long leash outdoors if not fenced in) and running all day until hes too tired to go anymore. We are looking for the RIGHT home for Teddy bear

Story
Name: Honey Breed: German Shepherd Age: 4 and 1/2 years old Background: Honey was found running around Blythe Landing and was finally caught after nearly 2 weeks of effort. She was adopted shortly after but returned because she did not get along with their cat. Personality: When she first got here, she was timid, scared, and anxious. She is now much more confident and comfortable. Her tail wags when people enter her room and she gets excited when she sees the leash! She is sweet and takes treats gently. She appears house trained and knows "sit". She is calm in her kennel, preferring to nap on a soft bed. It doesn't appear that she knows how to play, but hopefully that will change soon. She has not yet been dog tested, but reacts strongly when dogs bark at her. She is also not cat friendly. We always recommend a meet and greet if you have another dog at home. Ideal Home: She may appreciate a quiet, calm home while she decompresses. It may take some time for her to really act like a dog as she comes out of her shell. She would enjoy a lot of space and activity and would not benefit from apartment living. Final Thoughts: Honey is very smart and well-behaved. She is sweet and enjoys being around people, and she would certainly love someone to keep her active!

Story
Loving Dog Needs a Home with a Playmate! We’re looking for a wonderful new home for our beloved dog, Bear. He’s an amazing companion—loving, well-behaved, and great with people, kids, and other pets—but he thrives best when he has another dog to play with. Unfortunately, he’s been feeling lonely in our home since we relocated, and we want to find him a place where he can have the companionship he needs. About Bear: - Friendly, affectionate, and great with other dogs - Gentle and super submissive, despite his large size - Fully house-trained and well-mannered - Off leash trained as well as other commands - Loves to play ball and be part of the action - Fully up-to-date on vaccinations and vet care We are seeking a loving family with another dog who would enjoy having a playful, gentle companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, social pup to join your pack, please reach out!

Story
Linda is a courtesy listing located in Yadkinville, NC. She is a five year old Malinois, petite at 40lbs and very smart. She is a medium-high energy dog who gets along well with medium-large dogs, but can show herding behaviors at times. She is wonderful with children over ten and she's a bit shy from lack of exposure, but once she bonds, she'll be yours forever. She tends to warm up to women more quickly. While Linda is an "easy" Malinois, she's still a Malinois, and she's seeking an active home with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. She would enjoy nosework, agility and hiking. Linda is spayed, up to date on vaccines and prevention. She has had obedience training and will eagerly sign up for more-- she loves training and is highly food motivated. She is house and crate trained, and doesn't try to escape fences. Unknown how she does with cats. If you're interested in this awesome girl, please fill out and application on our website and we'll connect you with Linda's carers. www.northmeckanimalrescue.org
