Story
Name: Honey Breed: German Shepherd Age: 4 and 1/2 years old Background: Honey was found running around Blythe Landing and was finally caught after nearly 2 weeks of effort. She was adopted shortly after but returned because she did not get along with their cat. Personality: When she first got here, she was timid, scared, and anxious. She is now much more confident and comfortable. Her tail wags when people enter her room and she gets excited when she sees the leash! She is sweet and takes treats gently. She appears house trained and knows "sit". She is calm in her kennel, preferring to nap on a soft bed. It doesn't appear that she knows how to play, but hopefully that will change soon. She has not yet been dog tested, but reacts strongly when dogs bark at her. She is also not cat friendly. We always recommend a meet and greet if you have another dog at home. Ideal Home: She may appreciate a quiet, calm home while she decompresses. It may take some time for her to really act like a dog as she comes out of her shell. She would enjoy a lot of space and activity and would not benefit from apartment living. Final Thoughts: Honey is very smart and well-behaved. She is sweet and enjoys being around people, and she would certainly love someone to keep her active!

Story
OR Missy came into our care after being spared from euthanasia at a local shelter. Initially, she was very nervous and shut down in her kennel but once she was in her foster home, her true personality began to shine! While Missy is still a little nervous around new people and dogs, it’s simply out of initial fear and lack of confidence. She is currently living in a foster home with five other dogs of varying ages, sizes and personalities. She even gets along well with the three cats in the household. Missy hasn’t been around children yet, so we're unsure how she'll react but she’s already shown so much progress with patience and time. Missy’s resilience has been truly inspiring. She is adjusting well to indoor life, making great strides with crate training and potty training. She walks well on a leash and will continue to improve as she gets more exposure to different environments. At just one year old and weighing in at 33 lbs, Missy is the perfect size for a family looking for a loving companion. She does have a condition called microphthalmia, where her right eye is smaller than usual but it doesn’t cause her any issues and certainly doesn't take away from her beauty—it only adds to her unique charm. Missy is now ready for her forever home and would love to find a family who can appreciate her sweet, resilient nature.

Story
We adopted Isabelle from a family who accidentally had puppies and she’s traveled with us to 4 different cities in 2 states she hates baths but loves car rides. Isabelle is an almost perfect dog, she doesn’t bark inside, she’s house trained and (if no dogs are around) she walks well on a leash. We’re posting her up for adoption because we currently live in a shoebox house with 2 kids and we really don’t have the space for her. We’ve always given her 24/7 access to food but she’s recently become territorial of her food and growls at my toddler if they go within 6 feet. When family and friends with 5+ year old kids come by Isabelle is perfectly happy. We just want to make sure Isabelle is going to a nice home where she will be happy

Remington is timid at first but after a few days, his personality begins to shine. He is learning how to play but because of his size, we recommend no small children.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Hi. My name is Jack. I am told I am both a handsome and well behaved guy. I was surrendered to the rescue because I had an owner that was not familiar with my breed and did not give me the proper mental and physical stimulation I needed and I got into trouble and made some mistakesSince being at the rescue, I have lost weight, learned some agility, I love to take a dunk in the kiddie pool, and I have been used as the distraction dog in training classes, I am housebroken, crate trained, up to date on all my vaccines and microchipped. My favorite things are going on walks, obedience training, and enjoying a nice chew bone. But my most favorite thing of all is to hang out with my favorite human! If you think I might be the guy for you, please put in an application.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Hi. I am new to the rescue. My foster mom will update when she learns more about me.For more information and to submit an application, got to www.arrfnc.com. Thanks!February 16, 2025, 2:13 pm

Story
Meet LOGAN! This adorable 4.5-month-old puppy is searching for his forever family! Logan is a sweet and playful pup with a unique story.   He's the last of a litter of 12! His amazing momma (Hazel is a Dutch Shepherd/German Shepherd mix) gave birth to a dozen pups. That's right, a dozen! LOGAN was the tiniest of the bunch, but with tons of love and extra snuggles, he's now a super healthy and happy pup! He's basically a bouncy ball of pure joy!   He's also a total sweetheart! He soaks up all the attention, loves everyone he meets (seriously, everyone!), and is basically a mud-rolling expert. Plus, he's super smart! We're working on his leash manners, but hey, he's a puppy – it's all part of the fun!   Based on his current weight, we expect him to be between 50 to 60 lbs as an adult. If you're looking for a loyal, cuddly, and downright hilarious pup to join your family, LOGAN is your guy!   Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. Story
Tony, a handsome 6-month-old pup who came to PAR from a local shelter, feeling scared and unsure of people. Since then, he has made incredible strides, building his confidence and learning to trust. Although Tony can be cautious with new faces, once he bonds with you, he becomes an incredibly affectionate and loving companion. He thrives in an environment filled with patience and kindness and would do best in a home with another dog to help him feel comfortable and secure. Tony enjoys chewing on bones, lounging on the couch, and playing with his favorite stuffed toys. He’s a bundle of energy, loving to run and play chase in the yard, so he’ll need a secure, fenced space to explore safely. Tony is progressing well with potty training and will even ring the bell when he needs to go out! While he’s still adjusting to crate time, he would thrive in a home where someone is home often to offer the comfort he needs. If you're looking for a sweet, sensitive pup who will reward your love and patience with endless affection, Tony is the perfect match! He just needs a gentle, understanding home to continue blossoming into the incredible dog he's destined to be.
