Story
We saved Carly from an overcrowding situation 5 years ago. Prior to adopting her, we already had 1 dog and 2 cats. Since then, we’ve had 2 kids so you could say she’s used to a chaotic household.. however, she would do better in a calmer environment. She loves to play outside. We moved to a house where that is no longer an option and it has really affected her personality & we noticed some behavior issues- specific to having potty accidents in the house. She’s always been an anxious dog, so someone who can be patient, loving and understanding will be the best match for her. She will be shy and coy at first, but she will eventually grow out of it. I do think she would do better in a home where she is the main star, but she gets along with dogs cats and kids. We just want her to be in a space where she can freely roam or play at dog parks frequently. She needs that. She will cuddle you in bed or on the couch, or sleep on the floor. She’s very amenable and needs an owner the same.

Meet Siyah! Siyah is a very sweet and playful 3 year old 46 lb shepherd mix. She loves walks and is well mannered on leash. She is also a great snuggler, a real couch potato. She is a people pleaser. She listens well, is house trained and has had no house accidents. She is ready to find her new furever or foster home. She escaped the shelter and has done amazingly well at her foster home. Siyah's ideal home is as an only dog. Don't hesitate to apply to meet this sweet girl!!     Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications. Story
Happy and friendly adult dog. Gizzi was found as a stray. We estimate him to be about 2 years old and he weighs 35 pounds. Gizzi is looking for an active family that loves to play as much as he does. Basic obedience training is a great way to bond with your new pet, as well as teaching them basic training skills. Gizzi is most happy with his people around, he can express his displeasure when left alone. He is up to date on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm disease and his adoption fee includes a voucher for the mandatory neuter and microchip.

Story
Meet Joe, who originally came to us from the Rowan County Animal Shelter. Joe is a 1–2-year-old, 52 lb., German Shepherd. He has had all of shots is neutered and is microchipped. He came to us as rescue only due to fear issues. He is not aggressive in any way, nor does he shake / tremble. He is just nervous. Joe was adopted from us several months ago, but unfortunately, he stayed out in the yard because the adopters said they couldn't catch him, so they just left him out. The adopters returned him back to us on 12/30/23. Joe gets along well with all sized dogs and is social. While in foster care before he got adopted, he had started wagging his tail and socializing but now with the previous adopters not really working with him he's back to being shut down again. He will need time to adjust and get comfortable with his new home and does require a 6 ft. fence and having another dog (for companionship) in the family. If you are interested in adopting this beautiful boy, please send us your email address to obtain an Adoption Application.
