Once your application has been submitted, our Adoptions Team will be in contact shortly to set up a phone interview and a home visit. Captain Tail Blur!! Squiggy is a comical, ridiculous little dog who came to us after a dog fight bust. He's around 4 years of age and has been hanging out as a sort of sanctuary dog for a few years, but he's grown so much in that time that he'd do just fine in a home with people of his own. Squiggs is a little guy, maybe 40lbs, with goofy energy and the sweetest demeanor. He absolutely loves people and loves fun, and he's gotten so very close to making dog friends, but he's just too afraid of being attacked again and can't quite get there. It's such a shame what people call a sport, and this little guy had to pay the price of evil peoples' entertainment, he so deserved better.  So what's life with a former fighting dog like? Well, to be fair, he wasn't so much of a fighting dog as a target of other dogs. He's s little guy, and he's a happy guy, he visits with other dogs through barriers and play bows, he looks for all the world like a guy who is dying to play with other dogs, you'd never know by watching him what he's been through. Generally he's just a dog, he has no vices, he's super food motivated and loves to train. He'd absolutely adore finding a human who would trick train him and help him learn to binge watch Netflix. There's actually no management needed within the home, just crate and rotate if family comes with visiting dogs, he's totally fine with that life.  These guys are always hard to find a home for, not because they're anything other than a dog, but because media has scared people into thinking they're monsters. If you met Squiggy and someone called him a monster, you'd totally crack up, he's so not scary at all. Even with the cropped ears and black coat, he's just such a little goofball. Squiggy would love a fenced yard and a person to call his own. He'll follow you around the house and help you with all the things, then he'll flop down on his bed and chew his bones or hop up onto the sofa for a solid cuddle. He's a good little dog who deserves a human of his own, foster or adopter, either is fine. Ready to make a difference in the life of a dog who had a truly horrific start? Squiggy can't wait to hear from you! Visit southofthebully.com and fill out an application today. Our adoption fee is $300. This covers spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, all age appropriate vaccines, and any needed vet care. August 19, 2024, 10:37 pm

To begin the adoption process, please fill out the SOTB Adoption Application completely. Once your application has been submitted, our Adoptions Team will be in contact shortly to set up a phone interview and a home visit. Absolute sugar, Allen would be a great first dog.Allen is a delightful leggy boi with a super sunny disposition and smile that will brighten any day. He's just about 6 months old (as of mid-July), 30lbs and another "anyone's guess" as far as breeds go. His temperament is the friend-to-all of hunting breeds, he's super devoted and makes excellent eye contact like a herding breed, and he's got those flippy ears that could have come from a pittie, or something else entirely. Whatever his breeds are, he's 100% happy and an absolute joy to live with. Allen is a go anywhere, do anything kinda guy. He loves dogs and kids for sure, he's met cats and seemed to know they were sharp, and he came across a duck who had not gone to the pen when she was asked to, he did her no harm. Allen would love to find a family who likes to take their dog along for beach trips and brewery nights. He loves making friends and while he's not seen much of the world yet, he's looking forward to making memories with his new human(s).  He said to ask if you have a dog. He's kinda hoping you do, but if you don't that'll be fine too. But maybe you have a friend with a dog, he'd like that. Does this humble little sweetheart look like the guy for you? Visit southofthebully.com and fill out an application, he's looking forward to meeting you...and hopefully your dog (he made me put that last bit in).Our adoption fee is $300. To begin the adoption process, please fill out the SOTB Adoption Application completely. Once your application has been submitted, our Adoptions Team will be in contact shortly to set up a phone interview and a home visit. Are you looking for a dog who will gaze lovingly at you no matter how many days it's been since you've had a shower? Would you love a dog who listens with the most adoring stare no matter how hideous your singing is? Do you need a cartoon-y little pot roast of a dog who thinks you hung the moon no matter how bad your day has gone? Wanna spend your days with a dog who's a little bit shy, a little bit awkward and kind of a homebody? Fam, we got you! This is Dumpling, he's a kind and lovely soul with the sweetest smile and the best antenna ears. He's around 3 years old and 45 lbs, he's not seen a whole lot of the world, but he's having a really nice time with his foster going on adventure walks. Dumpling is the kind of guy who prefers quiet walks in the woods to rowdy dog bars or brewery trivia nights. He can fake it well enough, but really, he's the guy who brings a book to a party and likes to hang on the edges of chaos. He's just not a crowd kinda guy and we totally get that! That's not to say Dumpling isn't social, he loves his people and he gets along beautifully with his two foster sister dogs at home, he's just a humble guy who doesn't want to be the center of attention.  Dumpling is looking for a family who leans more towards the quiet life. He likes neighborhood walks and trips to Lowe's, he's housebroken, crate trained and non-destructive in the home, mostly he wants to follow you around and be with you. Kinda perfect, really. He's lovely with kids, though he does prefer them to be more on the easy going side, as one would expect. Dumpling is just a good little dude looking for a compatible family to call his own. Does this sweet, endearing, slightly awkward little guy speak to your soul? We'd love to set you two up for a happily ever after, head over to southofthebully.com and fill out an application today. Our adoption fee is $300. Story
I fostered Pele from a rescue. She and my dog got along so well that I decided to adopt her for him! Unfortunately, there was an incident with one of my cats and I need to rehome her for the safety of my other cats. Pele loves humans and lives for attention. If you're looking for a pup who wants to be with you as much as she can, Pele is for you. Even though she only has 3 legs, she is still very active. She loves to go for walks and can go for shorter runs. She and her canine brother love to chase each other around the yard and wrestle together in the house. She also loves lying next to her human. She gets along with a lot of dogs but can be selective. Because of the incident with my cat, she should not be around cats. She loves children but she is a little awkward with just the one front leg so she should be watched around small children. She is up to date on her vaccines and has an appointment for her annual heartworm test and injection on March 4.

Story
Emma was rescued from our local shelter 3 years ago making her 6 years of age now. At first, she was very aloof but in about a month, she was part of our family. She is very attentive. We have a toddler and many breakables throughout the house and she is completely aware of her surroundings at all times. I cannot recall a single item that she has ever broken due to her negligence. She is delicate with everything around the house and knows what's hers to play with. And she is incredibly gentle with the baby. She is warm, attentive, loves to play, but is also a very calm and low key dog. She loves going on walks around the neighborhood and appreciates even more the trips to the local dog parks. She also travels well in the car. Road trips are no problem as long as she gets her breaks every couple of hours. And she is fully potty trained. She will let you know if she needs to go and will patiently wait for you if you are busy. Overall, she is a great companion and guard dog

Story
This not so little nugget is Yosemite Sam. Yosemite was adopted last season from Mama Lola's Looney Tunes litter.  Yosemite's about 10 months old now and is looking for a new forever family. Here's the basics: *We've had him in to our vet for a complete checkup.  *He's fully vetted, neutered and up to date on all vaccines.  *Our trainer has been out to visit and was impressed with the level of training that he's had already. Yosemite Sam is house trained, crate trained, and a dream on leash. He's a super smart very good boy who is attentive to his person and enjoys learning new things. He's been living in his current home since adoption and has done very well with general house & people manners. Yosemite's about 65ish pounds and has ears for DAYS! Though still technically a puppy, he's the best of both worlds. He's young, healthy, and loves to play, but he's done with the potty training, crate training, and most importantly - the teething. He lives with another dog and little human kiddos, and he would probably be happy just about anywhere. We think his dream home would include walks & a yard to play in, but the rest is negotiable! Yosemite Sam is a super duper good boy and he needs a family that will love him for the rest of his life.  To learn more or to submit an adoption application please visit our website https://www.pitsandgigglesrescue.org/adopt  ##1723063##

Story
Mama Molasses aka "Mama Mo" is a lovely little lady who is looking for a family of her very own. Mo came to our rescue VERY pregnant. She had been picked up as a stray, suffering from a gunshot wound in the leg. Despite her rough start, Mama Mo LOOOOVES everyone she meets. And everyone who meets her - loooooves her right back! Her sweet, silly personality and gentle demeanor will win you over in a heartbeat! Mama Mo was a wonderfully attentive mother to her pups, and now that they're all adopted - she's ready for her own FUREVER! Mo is absolutely stunning, around 2 years old, and weighs in just under 50lbs. She is perfectly potty trained, great in the crate, and gets along well with other doggos. Mama Mo would fit in just about anywhere! So if you're in the market for a super sweet velcro pitty that loves snuggles, apply today! ##2003672##

Mama Lightning McQueen’s 11 pups have left the barking lot and she is now looking for her own forever family to cruise with! She is a cute 43 pounds ready to snuggle and play!   Mama MQueen is as friendly as can be. She is best friends with any human in the room, and loves all of her doggy friends (so much). She is around 2 years old, potty trained, crate trained, and has great manners! After a fun play session outside, she loves to come snuggle up with you. If you’re looking for a dog that will light up when you come home, do zoomies around your yard, and take naps on your lap while you watch Bridgerton, look no further. Story
Dunk is such a sweet boy, he is well behaved and food driven so pretty eager to learn commands. He is very cuddly but does well in his crate, doesn’t bark while he’s in there. He is good with other dogs and just wants to be friends with everyone he meets - he will only bark at other dogs if the bark at him first. Good on the leash, not much pulling but could work on it a bit more. Seems good with kids and new people, teaching him not to jump. He is only 4 months old so still in the nibbling/teething phase but has been pretty easily redirected to chew on toys instead. He’s basically potty trained as long as his routine is kept up. I am only giving him away because of my work schedule, I don’t have time to properly maintain his training and he is left in his crate for most of the day whether it’s overnight or while I’m at work for 12 hours. I also live alone in a 1 bedroom apartment so it isn’t fair to him. I think he would thrive in a family home with a nice backyard and room to play.

Story
Breed: Boxer / American Bulldog? maybe? Size: Large; currently 70+ lbs Estimated Birthday: 3/2/2020 House-Trained: Yes ---------- Crate-Trained: Yes, and kennels on command! Kid-Friendly: Needs a home with kids over 12 years This sweet girl came to the rescue in need of bowel obstruction surgery after she thought a sock was a yummy snack. She made it through surgery and has been recovering nicely! Bella Vida is quite shy and a bit hesitant to open up to new people, so she is looking for a patient family that will give her time and let her know she is safe. Bella Vida is selective with her dog friends and may do better with male dogs. She is looking for a house with no small children and would thrive with an active family with older kids. Bella Vida loves to go on daily walks and will play fetch for hours! She will always follow up these play sessions with a cuddle session on the couch. She loves deconstructing stuffed toys and sometimes her bedding. We would recommend caution in allowing Bella Vida unsupervised access to toys due to her recent sock-eating debacle. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Bella Vida is $365 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!
