Story
Location: West Columbia, SC Name: Angel Age: 4 years Breed: Pit/shepherd mix - 57 lbs M/F: F Spayed/Neutered/Shots: UTD on rabies and dhpp, heartworm negative and UTD on prevention, spayed Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: Good with other dogs of all sizes and children. She isn’t a jumper which works very well for children. She seems to ignore my grown cats but tries to pick up small kittens and carry them around (doesn’t seem to be trying to hurt them) but I keep her separated just to be safe. Can get annoyed with the more energetic dogs. Aggression or medical issues?: flea allergy so have to keep her on prevention during warmer. Nub tail from previous life injuries that will flare up if flea allergies present and get raw again from her licking so again… flea prevention. months - Has been involved with a fight she didn’t want to be in and she tried to hold her own but gave up and simply laid down while I got the other off. She was raised with chiweenies and had 0 clue what to do in that situation. She thinks she is a small dog couch potato (other dog I learned is not good around any other female pit mixes and she was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time). Reason for rehoming?: owner moved and left her behind in a crate House/crate trained?: yes but doesn’t have to be crated as she doesn’t mess with anything in the house. Additional info/story (personality): Very sweet and loves to cuddle and get pets. She is more in her “laid back” era and more focused on pets and attention than playing with the others. When I get home and let her out her crate she greets me and then goes outside to potty and maybe hangs out 5-10 min before she’s back inside ready to hang out on the couch and cuddle. She also is really not bright for lack of better words (training her commands is extremely difficult). Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Adoption application & contract required to ensure good home.

Story
He’s a very sweet boy with no sense of personal space and loves giving kisses and cuddles. He cannot be trained like a regular dog because he does not understand positive or negative reinforcement, only consistency. He has good and bad days. Sometimes he can be walked on a leash; sometimes he can’t so he has to go to a home with a FENCED IN YARD. When he is very excited, he is a jumper. I have tried everything possible to get him to stop but he just does not understand (although he doesn’t do it as much as he used to so hopefully he will grow out of it). He also functions a billion times better when other dogs are in the home so he must go to a home with OTHER DOGS. His crate and the couch are his safe places. When he is stressed, he has to have access to his crate because that is his safe place (either enclosed or metal with a cover around it). I can’t shortly explain him in full, so if anyone is genuinely interested, please reach out and we can discuss more. When I say he is nonfunctional off medication I mean he refused to leave his crate, would use the bathroom on himself, and barely eat because he was so terrified of everything. His meds completely changed his life and they aren’t negotiable in any part of his future. Message/comment if interested.

Story
Location: Lexington, SC Name: Baby Age: 2 years Breed: Pit Mix - 50 lbs M/F: F Spayed/Neutered/Shots: UTD on rabies & dhpp; heartworm negative & UTD on prevention; spayed Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: extremely human submissive and loves children; Not good with other female pits or dogs under 25 lbs - good with literally all other dogs and is always around other kinds with no other problems; can cat test upon request but doubt she would be good with them due to her not being good with smaller dogs Aggression or medical issues?: no known medical issues; as stated above, NOT good with other female pits or dogs under 25 lbs (nothing directly bad has happened with dogs under 25 lbs but reactivity clearly seen through crate and has never been formally tested for safety reasons - full reactivity has happened with other female pits so access is 100% removed at all times and she has had no further issues with any other dogs or breeds for almost a year now). Is even housed with a very alpha male at the moment with no issues. Reason for rehoming?: dumped at a nursing home and was contacted to pick up Would you like rescue help?: no - already with one House/crate trained?: yes! Additional info/story (personality): Walks extremely well on a leash and is very friendly. Medium energy and does still occasionally jump when I first arrive home. Huge love bug and loves to cuddle. Very very human submissive and the next door neighbors kids are who helped me name her and get her out of her shell originally. Due to her personality and specific reactivities… I’m sure you can assume type of situation she came from. As long as you work with her boundaries, there are no problems in the slightest and she gives us all her loving all the time. PS: LOVES couch naps. Would also do fine as only animal in the home, but not a requirement. Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Adoption application & contract required to ensure good home.
