Story
Hey, my name is Micky and I am looking for my forever home! I am a sweet boy with a TON of energy, and I am hoping to find an adopter who not only shares my energy level, but who will help train me to keep me on my best behavior. I can be rough when I play, so I will need a home without young children. Once I am fully comfortable with you, you will have a friend for life! I am loving and smart and would make the perfect dog for an experienced dog parent. I really really hate the vet so I will need someone who can help me find a vet I feel comfortable with. I may sound like extra work, I can promise you that the love I will give will be totally worth it! Micky has heartworm which means that this dog has parasitic worms in the right ventricle of the heart and nearby blood vessels. Heartworm is transmitted from one dog to another by mosquitoes and can be easily prevented using monthly heartworm preventative, but once the disease is contracted the treatment process can be quite intensive. Micky will need to remain sedentary with minimal activity during the treatment process to ensure a healthy recovery. There is additional information on heartworm disease and treatment available at our Adoption Desk. The heartworm injections for treatment are covered by HSHV, but there may be additional costs associated with clinical care.

Story
Hello! My name is Louie, an adorable teen-puppy looking for a forever home! I am a bit older than other puppies but that doesn`t stop me from acting like I`m a funny little pup! I will depend on you for guidance and training, especially to help with my shy nature. I like to play with dogs, but I can be a little much for dogs that don`t like to wrestle. So I`m looking for another playmate who`s ready for some fun! This playfulness and a higher prey drive mean I would be best in a home without cats, so no feline friends for me. If you are willing to devote the time needed for a guy like me, you will gain an amazing companion!

Story
Meet Nova!! She is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes and this is a note from her foster mom!`Nova is the easiest dog ever! She is 100% crate trained and potty trained. She is happy to sleep in her crate all night long and is great about asking to go outside first thing in the morning, right before bed, and in the afternoon. We haven`t seen her with kids but she LOVES people and is incredibly sweet and friendly with new people. She has a lot of energy especially for a 9 year old and loves to be outside but seems equally happy sitting on the couch watching TV with her people. Overall, she is smart, cuddly, and sweet. We`ve been able to leave her home alone outside of her crate for up to 6-7 hours without any issues. Anyone would be so so lucky to have her in their family.`If you are interested in meeting Nova please call the adoptions team at 734-662-5585 or email adoptions@hshv.org to set up a visit today!
