Story
Cheesecake is a young man that was surrendered to Mag Mutts from a breeding operation. This 'dish' is a little guy, born 2/20/2024 making him approximately 10-11 months old and weighing about 15lbs.   Cheesecake is more brave when he has a buddy, so another playful, active dog in the home is required. He prefers women and will warm up to them more so than men. A fenced yard is also required for his safety. House training is going well when kept on a schedule and he is also doing well with walking on a leash. He has not been around small children, so kids in the home  should be 6+ years old and have the ability to understand that he will need extra time to warm up and that fast movements and loud noises may startle him.   We recommend obedience training for all pups and dogs!        **Breed or size (once fully grown) is a 'best guess' and is not guaranteed since they arrived into rescue without either parent. **Magnificent Mutts is an all foster home based rescue and meets are held by appointment with the entire family in attendance. Please ensure your current pets are up to date with vetting, have landlord/HOA approval and are prepared to take your new family member home at the adoption appointment.  Thank you for your interest!                                      If you are interested in adoption, please complete the "Application to Adopt" which can be accessed from this link: (       www.magnificentmutts.org )  No phone calls please, emails only. Adoption donations range between $360-$400 (cash only), unless otherwise noted. Prices are subject to change, please contact for specific adoption donation.      Please visit www.magnificentmutts.org for the online dog application. December 31, 2024, 4:12 pm

Story
Introducing BOGIE, a Bichon Frise & Shih Tzu cross breed who is just over a year old, weighing approximately 12 pounds. Bogie is a very sweet boy that was rescued from a puppy-mill breeder when he was “too old” to sell. Bogie does not have a mean bone in his body and really craves a gentle touch/pet because he finally feels safe. Bogie follows his foster mom around, especially when outside in the yard, and now feels safe to come when called. He now plays and sometimes gets the “zoomies” in the yard, looking so happy. His recovery from his horrible first year of life has been remarkable and we are so happy for him. Because Bogie can be skittish, especially from unfamiliar sounds and people, he requires a calm household, securely fenced yard and another friendly, small to medium sized dog in the home who will continue to mentor Bogie’s rehabilitation. Bogie enjoys the companionship of other dogs but more importantly he gets his confidence from them, learning more typical dog behavior. Bogie has good home manners and is housebroken. Due to his skittish nature, he has not been trained to go for walks on a leash. He is approved for adult-only  households. He is such a great little dog whose future is so bright! This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, provided vaccines, been dewormed, tested for diseases, neutered, and microchipped. Our online application is not functioning currently; therefore ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available upon request from acaringplace@comcast.net.   We apologize for the inconvenience. A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. All dogs and puppies live in foster homes, providing you as the adopter, with information on the animal's behaviors, needs, and requirements. We are always in search of fosters care providers. If you are one of those special people willing to open your heart and home to an animal in need and would like to receive information on how you can foster an animal, please contact us.     January 7, 2025, 4:30 am

Story
This special little senior lady is MINA - a very sweet and loving Shih Tzu mix who is likely between 10-12 years old and about 15 pounds. Mina is a happy, sweet, loving dog who likes nothing more than to be with you and receive belly rubs. She is a plucky lady who is confident once she knows her surroundings; she also enjoys going for walks so she can check out the neighborhood. Mina is friendly with new people, good with children, comfortable around small dogs and indifferent to cats. This sweet girl will welcome you home with snorts and tail wags and then lay by your feet to be close - she doesn’t jump up on furniture. Mina wants nothing more than to be close to you, feel safe, and receive your loving attention. Mina did not receive any health care for many years and had untreated medical conditions upon rescue. Mina has no vision in one eye due to cataracts requiring daily eye drops. Additionally, she was diagnosed with Cushings Disease, a condition that occurs when a dog's body produces too much cortisol, a steroid hormone, so Mina requires daily oral medication to manage the condition. The good news is that after taking this new medication for only a couple months, her foster parents have seen good improvement in her general condition. This girl holds a special place in our hearts due to a lifetime of neglect. Mina deserves a loving, diligent adopter who will take good care of her for the remainder of her life.   This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, tested for diseases, provided inoculations, been dewormed, neutered, and microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available upon request from acaringplace@comcast.net.  Our online application isn’t working correctly so please contact us so we can send a copy via email to you. A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area.
