Story
Female, 5 years old, 9 lbs. Puff is new to the rescue. We will add more information as we get to know the dog better. If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. Apply for a DOG: City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue | Apply for Adoption Interested in saving more lives? Foster a dog today! Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Thank you for your interest in a Home At Last Sanctuary, Inc. animal.  STOP!!! READ!! The ENTIRE DESCRIPTION before you inquire. Do not call, email, txt, send an inquiry through any other website complete our online application FIRST. http://hals.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=3016 Visit our official website(s) here HomeAtLastSanctuary.ORG or HALS.RescueGroups.ORG There is a complete our application only. Newton has been adopted. We keep his profile active for a short period to make sure we made the right match. WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS. We estimate Newton almost three years old.  He is 25 pounds, neutered, up-to-date in vaccinations.  We do not know much about his past before he was picked up as a stray dog by Baltimore County shelter.  He was extremely and painfully matted, not neutered, and had an amical hernia.  It was necessary to shave his matting off under sedation so this was done when he was neutered and had his amical hernia repaired.  In the shelter he was very scared and still had not forgotten the pain he suffered from his matted coat.  His coat requires regular grooming to prevent getting matted again.  He is extremely fearful of grooming.  We have been working with him in his foster home and he is getting better.  He will require a family that understands his past trauma and has experience with dogs to help him fully recover.  Newton would like to have a home with a yard where he can spend some time running around.    Newton would not do well in apartment/Condo life.  He needs to have a house with a yard. He seems to be energetic and active and a bit mouthy so he would not do well with young children. Newton is an active, happy, playful dog that gets along well with his new foster brothers.  He is an amazingly affectionate dog. He seems to want to and will climb into your lap to be close to you.  He like to be in touch with his people either on the lap, next to and touching on the couch, and very close in bed at night with his warm body. We had an animal communicator do a reading on Newton.  What we think from this encounter that Newton is missing his family.  We think something happened to his owner and a caregiver may have let Newton go astray.  His condition would indicate that he was long overdue for required grooming.  WHEN AN APPLICATION TO ADOPT IS APPROVED WE BRING NEWTON TO THE HOME VISIT AND MEET AND GREET, AND IF ANOTHER ANIMAL A SNIFF TEST.  WE DO NOT PLACE DOGS ON THIS VISIT. WE RETURN IF THERE WILL BE AN ADOPTION WHEN EVERYONE IS PREPARED TO ADOPT .  WE ONLY TRAVEL UP TO A ONE HOUR DRIVE FROM ROCKVILLE MD TO PLACE ANIMALS. Story
Meet Brody, the 5-year-old, 25-pound Snaggletoothed Smushhound—a rare and majestic breed known for its award-winning underbite and impeccable comedic timing. This dapper little dude looks like he’s constantly judging your life choices, but in reality, he’s just trying to figure out how to steal your snack. Brody’s underbite is so impressive that dentists study it in awe, and cartoonists use it for inspiration. He may not be able to close his mouth all the way, but he can open your heart with his ridiculous charm. Tug of War? That’s his game, and don’t even think about winning—Brody plays for keeps. When it’s mealtime or bedtime, he likes his space, so no interruptions, please. And as for cats? Let’s just say Brody is not a fan of the feline persuasion. He’s also looking for a kid-free home because, well, he prefers his humans fully grown and properly trained. Adopt Brody today—because perfection is overrated, and an underbite this glorious deserves to be admired! ?? If interested in meeting Brody, please submit an application on our website.

Story
Meet Petey, the pint-sized, no-eyed wonder dog with a big heart and an even bigger appetite for love! This resilient little guy has overcome more challenges than most superheroes, starting with having to say goodbye to his eyes (they had holes—can you believe it?). Now, he sees the world in his own unique way: with his nose! Petey is a certified lap champion who doubles as your personal snuggle therapist. He’s portable, lovable, and totally cool with being carried everywhere like the royalty he is. His favorite pastime? Going on “sniffaris” in his stroller, where he can explore all the scents of the world without lifting a paw. Petey’s the definition of low-maintenance. He’s quiet, polite, and gets along fabulously with other dogs, cats, and calm kids. His dream home is one with plenty of lap time and a human who’s around to spoil him with affection. If you’re ready for a sweet, snuggly, stroller-riding companion, Petey is your guy—because every hero deserves a happily-ever-after! Fostered in Frederick, MD Apply to adopt at MirisHaven.org
