Shadow’s a 2yo 6lb Shih Tzu mix. He’s dog, cat and kid 6+ friendly. He’s house trained when kept on a schedule and is crate trained. He’s good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. He is a known escape artist so will really need to watch him in a yard and needs work on leash walking. He likes playing with toy, especially toys that he can chew on or play tug of war with. He loves to be with his people to cuddle and play/wrestle with other small dogs. He still has a lot of puppy energy. He’s very good with being bathed/groomed/getting nails clipped. Shadow’s foster requires he have another young playful small dog in the home, get daily exercise to help with all his energy and help stimulate him mentally, be allowed to be with his people as much as possible including sleeping in bed with them along with people who are on board to show leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirements, please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Coco ACCT-A-213928 is a 7-year-old female who came in as an owner surrender on 2/25 due to behavior. Behavior: On 2/26 staff noted: “We brought Coco out for some activity time today. Coco was in a top sidebank and was very stressed- panting and drooling with dilated eyes. She would not sniff at the handler and remained very stressed. When the handler reached in with the leash she shied away from it but allowed for easy leashing and then came to the front. When the handler went to lift her out she stiffened and appeared uncomfortable and gave a little growl. She then jumped out of kennel on her own and walked well on leash. In the room Coco was very stressed and continued to pant heavily, drool, but stayed close to her handler. She was tolerant to full body petting without issue including touching her paws and checking her teeth, but remained highly stressed in the room.” On 2/25 owner stated: “Pees and poops in house, has bitten 3 adults, and is not good with other dogs. Has bitten people multiple times. Twice bite broke skin. Anytime people come into house rushes the door and tries to bite. Been ongoing about a year. Nothing specific provokes.” Medical: On 3/8 staff noted: “Coco has been observed to have shelter acquired upper respiratory infection (URI), or a "doggy cold". She has been started on medication, and will be monitored for resolution of the respiratory infection. PCR pending” On 2/27 exam staff noted: “Mouth/Teeth/Gums - clean with under bite Coat & Skin - no live fleas, shaved off some artificial constipation. Bright, alert, responsive, skittish, just go slow and use a muzzle to be safe.” On 2/25 exam staff noted: Bright, alert, responsive, stressed, panting, whale eyes Allowed brief exam from Doctor & pets. Defecated when being examined. Both eyes were pink and staff was unable to examine Mouth/Teeth/Gums. - ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. My foster mom calls me Choo-Choo Charlie Romeo, a handsome little Shih Tzu(believed to be) & I am looking for my forever family to love me. I’m about 2-3 years young, I weigh around 11 pounds and I am doing awesome with my crate training. I’ll need time and patience to adjust to my forever home just like I did here at my foster mom’s with my three foster sisters! I love the ladies! I’m wearing this fancy pool noodle collar because I was recently neutered. I know it’s a fashion statement! I know some basic commands of sit, come and go night night when I go to bed in my crate all night. I was neglected and abandoned by my last humans so I know my hair looks a little uneven but I am all cleaned up and cared for now like I deserve! I love affection and my tail goes crazy when you tell me that I am a good boy!
