Story
My name is Sugar and I'm looking for a lifelong bff to be the spice in your life. Im a 3 yrs young pure bred Silky Terrier. I've heard I look like a Yorkie. Pfft! They wish... just at these fancy ears. Vidal Sassoon himself would have been in awe. Speaking of my hair/ fur.. I'm what they call very low to no shed meaning I won't shed all over your ~ahem.. our pad and you and our guests won't have to play Benadryl shot games. I have my own opinions and a bit of a spicy side, but once you've won me over I'll be your ride or die. Speaking of rides...I love car rides too..all I want is to be loved ,cherished ,belly rubbed, and hanging out the passenger side of my best friends ride... Toys and squeaky balls are favorites along with treats and naps. Hurry up and get your application in. Our adventures await! Note from foster mum: Sugar is a wonderful 17 lb Silky terrier that can be a little spicy with new people at first, but warms up quickly in a calm home. She may not be well suited for a home with small children as she can be fearful and snippy if uncertain. She's done very well with other dogs given the rt introduction and supervision since she is small and can be fearful at first. Sugar walks well on a leash. She is currently learning kennel training, but prefers to sleep in the bed with you. She is potty pad trained and will go outside as well, but is still firming up her skills. Sugar rides in the car perfectly. She can be a chewer with prized doggie chew things like remotes and reading glasses. Those need to just be set up higher than her little legs can reach and redirect her with her toys. Her adopt fee is 500 local to the San Antonio area and 700 out of state.

These pups are in Seattle, Washington too!

Story
Oh so handsome, that's our BO! A 7 month old LhasaPoo, this little man will steal your heart. So soft, a lover boy, already so good on house manners, good on a leash, and a fantastic rider in the car - he even comes with his own car seat! Bo came to us through no fault of his own, and deserves to find his forever family ASAP! Bo will be a nice small but sturdy size when full grown, estimating 15-18#. A perfect good buddy, trail walker, coffee shop partner or couch cuddler. Bo knows several commands already including crate, and he wiill sleep or rest in his crate, but his preference is that he sleeps with you. Bo is great with other dogs so far, but has also lived as an only dog, so he will be good in whatever family situation. Bo will be adopted with a contract and deposit to ensure neuter within 60 days of adoption.

Story
* Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family. *Please note that adoptions for our adult dogs will occur after their scheduled Spay/Neuter surgeries.

Story
Meet Violet, the sweet and affectionate 3-year-old Shih Tzu with a gentle heart. Violet is a bit of a follower and would thrive in a home with a confident dog to lead the way. She loves belly rubs and is very affectionate, always ready to lick her person with love. Violet can be scared of new situations but has made significant progress with leash walking and being outside. She's learning to go potty outdoors but still prefers to use potty pads in the playpen. Violet sleeps in the X-pen with her friend Poppy, though they don't cuddle up together. This little scaredy-cat can be nervous around men and new environments. She hasn't been observed around children, but it's likely she would be more comfortable in a home with older children who understand her need for gentle interactions. Violet is good with other dogs and sits well in the car. While not very toy-motivated, Violet does enjoy playing if Poppy leads the way and likes to chew on things (but doesn't steal socks or slippers). She is food-motivated, making training a bit easier. If you have a calm and patient home, preferably with a confident dog, Violet could be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet this tender-hearted pup and help her build the confidence she needs to shine! * Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue.
