Story
Meet Hagrid! Hagrid is a big ol’ sweetheart and a true gentle giant at 100 pounds of love and sloppy kisses. With his mild and laid-back nature, he’s the perfect companion for someone who appreciates a calm and loving dog. He’s about 5 years old and a Great Pyrenees/lab mix. His foster got his dna test done! This big boy enjoys following his favorite person around and being part of your day-to-day life. Hagrid seems to get along well with other dogs, but may be better suited as a loyal solo companion. Hagrid needs a loving family that is willing to provide additional care for him in the future if need be. He has been diagnosed with a MRSP skin infection that may require ongoing care and medication throughout his life to keep him itch free and comfortable. Although MRSP can be treated and cured, there is also a possibility that ongoing treatment may be required. Hagrid is currently responding to his treatment and is a happy, go lucky boy! Are you ready to welcome this big bundle of love into your family and give him the extra care down the road if he needs it?IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.March 3, 2025, 11:06 am

Story
Welcome Emma to CCPAL foster program. Emma is a 3-year old pure English Mastiff. We do not have papers. She weighs 110 pounds. She pulls on leash but she does lean in on the person that is her person. She responds well to affection and was taking direction well in just a short period of time working with her at the Rescue. She is a gentle giant. This is a loyal breed and my experience with them is they are protective of their family once they bond. Mastiff breeds are notoriously patient and good with children. She knows Spanish and English commands. She is good with children and other dogs. She isn’t good with small dogs. She would be great with a moderately active family familiar with an XL dog or the Mastiff breed. This breed will do wonderful with strong person who knows how to give good direction. She is stunning and if you love this breed, you will love this dog. She is getting spayed soon and will be getting her vaccines and be ready for her forever home in a couple of weeks. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to be delivered to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 if you have any questions. Please go to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com with questions. You can get an application online at www.ccpalrescue.org

Story
Hi, I'm Pippa,I sure hope you are looking for a great young dog to make your home complete. If that is so, then stop looking, you found her. I am pretty shy when I first meet new people but all I need is a bit of attention to build my confidence and I will shine. I don't live with children but I have been around them and I know to just stay calm and relax. I like dogs in my pack and I will play but I would prefer to chill out and relax. I am what you might call laid-back!When my foster family takes me out for a walk I stick pretty close to them because there are a lot of street dogs and they scare me a bit. It is much better when I walk with my pack. I don't have many toys but give me a nice marrow bone and I will be busy all day! Cats are not my thing, unless they like to be chased then I am all in.Oh did I mention that I love to swim? It is the best thing when we go to the beach and I get to play in the water. I'm in heaven then. The car ride there makes me a bit nervous so I don't look out the window or anything. I just wait until we are at the beach then I am fine.I am pretty good with my basic commands like Sit, Come and of course, come eat! I know I still have lots to learn but I hope my new family will be ready to teach me how to be the best dog I can be. If it sounds like we could be a match then fill in the application and we can meet on a Zoom call.I am all yours,Pippa To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo. There you will see any videos, more photos and details.
