We do NOT WANT to give our dog up….we are forced to move to a different home and we are experiencing an absolute NO to the dog every single house we look for. We also work 14 hour days 6 days a week. We just want her to be loved and taken care of. We are horrible for doing this but we feel like its the kids or the dogs. What are we supposed to do. We love her. She is great with kids and she does NOT like going out and doing stuff…she wants to stay home and love and lick someone. She a great protector too.

The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. This handsome brindle boy, with his unique gray-toned legs and warm hazel eyes, is just as bold and delightful as your favorite cup of coffee. Pike’s place? At 12 weeks old and 10 lbs, Pike is the perfect mix of independent and playful. We think he may be a Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix, based on his mom, but with rescue it’s always a guess! He rides great in the car in his crate—no crying, no stress! He absolutely loves playing with other dogs—his favorite game is rough-and-tumble with his foster sibling, Mary!
