Animal Profile: Goose is an estimated 2-year-old, 70 lb neutered male bully mix who came into the overcrowded Stockton animal shelter as a stray. Foster Update: Goose is the sweetest little short stack and just so hilarious! He provides endless entertainment with his goofy antics. He is good with other dogs as long as the handler is capable of upholding rules and boundaries as he can get really excitable and pushy in his greetings and interactions. He is also good in his crate. He goes in on command and is calm while crated, even during a longer work day. He can be a bit barky with strange noises but is otherwise quiet, so he may be OK with apartment living depending on the community. When out of the crate he entertains himself with toys and making funny faces at you, and he love*love*loves to snuggle. He is learning obedience training and leash training and would benefit from someone willing to work with him on these as it's all new to him. He is a bit all over the place on leash and does well with a training collar but he's not reactive. He had a few potty accidents in the beginning (we don't think he'd lived inside before) but increasing supervision has eliminated accidents for a while now. Goose has not had any exposure to cats or kids, but he is kind and also playful so would likely be okay with dog-savvy older kids. Sometimes he needs a few minutes to warm up to new people, but once he is comfortable with you he will be your new best friend. He is a well-tempered dog but a little rough around the edges so would likely be best matched with an owner who has *some* dog experience. This land Otter is the same, for all of the above! Otter is an estimated 2-year-old, 50 lb Staffordshire Terrier who originally came into the overcrowded Stockton, California animal shelter as a stray in October. Upon first arriving in Seattle, he was lacking manners and unable to understand boundaries. With the help from his foster mom and local trainer Gina Cooley of Double Down Dog Training, he's made amazing progress! Otter comes with a 5 week Board and Train under his belt so he is very well trained - he is house and crate trained, is a perfect gentleman on leash and is friendly with both dogs and people. He is fairly independent when it comes to other dogs, does not have a strong interest in playing. He loves long leisurely walks, squeaky toys and a soft place to nap - in that order. He is also very food motivated! True to the bully breed, he can be pushy in play with toys and will need an owner with experience to help him manage. Otter has been friendly with kids, but he is looking for a home without them due to his behavior prior to training. Lorenzo and Rose are an incredible duo; you just have to meet them to fall in love. Lorenzo is 9 and Rose is around 7. They are medium plus in size and soo full of love and life. They get along with other dogs, kids, and all humans. They currently live with two young kids. They are very bonded and cannot be separated. Both of these sweeties are easy-going in the home. Rose is strong so harness walking will help, she is eager to smell the good earth! Lorenzo is active too but slightly more mellow. They would enjoy a fenced yard and love going for walks. Meet Sashi! Sashi was rescued from an abandoned home. She has had hip issues from when she was a pup. It's noticeable when she trots but doesn't affect her running as her zoomies are fast. She was very skittish of any loud notices and voices that led us to believe she was abused. She has grown to trust humans and is such a happy dog. She rolls on the floor for you for some belly rubs. She is a great girl, a Staffordshire mix that is good with dogs and kids. She has not had any exposure with cats yet. Sashi has a prey drive and would do best in a household where there are no smaller animals, farm animals, etc. She is crate trained and working with on potty training. Has had some accidents in the house but does well outdoors. Happy dog and enjoys playing with a smaller companion chihuahua. I am a BIG boy at 85 lbs.! This seems to be my ideal weight, too! I am a laid-back, middle-aged dude who wants all the attention! We are working on my excitability, and I am learning not to jump. I am a typical bulldog with itchy skin & lots of lovable folds that will need care. I love to go outside and play, and I know just what to do out there. No messes in the house! I love car rides and especially getting treats from that magic pull-up window! Why can't I sit on your lap? I walk well on my leash and love it when you think that you will get my toy back. Nope, nope, nope! My foster peeps are still assessing whether I am good with other dogs. I do well in dog parks but may be a tad resource aggressive. However, it's been a crazy few days, and we will check back here after more assessments.

They say I'm a big guy, but I really feel like that means there is more of me to love. My foster mom says I'm very handsome and have good manners. I like to lay on my bed and spend time walking around my yard to be sure there are no squirrels. I like to chase them away. It would be best if I don't share a fence with other animals as they can annoy me. Not to toot my own horn, but I'm very polite. I do not get on the furniture or counter surf. I do like to sneak in some sniffs of whatever you are cooking though. It makes me feel like I'm part of the process. Once I am adjusted to my new space, I only go potty outside. I'm good with bigger kids just because I'm so big. I could accidentally knock over a small human and that would make me feel very sad. Since I am 6 and out of my puppy stage, I enjoy quite a bit of napping. I do like to watch out for my family and guard them some, so it might take some training before I am ready for an outing. I love my bed and I'm very happy sleeping in my crate too. I don't make a peep. I just know the right family is out there waiting for me to give them all the love and kisses too.
