He currently weighs about 60 pounds and is a burning, burning hunk of love for sure, so it goes without waying that Dominique loves attention and is ready to bond with his special human. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Story
Gigi, a gorgeous, female, silver standard poodle, was rescued from a local shelter on 11/6/23, and was guesstimated to be about a year old. She weighed 41.4 pounds and was a little thin. While her coat wasn’t terrible, hair completely covered her beautiful eyes so that you couldn’t see them. After being brought up to date on vaccinations, she was groomed and it was easy to see what a gorgeous girl she is and her sweetness is every bit as spectacular as her looks. The groomer said that as she gets older her color will lighten to the color of her face, which was a beautiful silver color. The groomer said she is what is called a silver poodle. At the shelter they said she was good with everybody, dogs, cats, and people, and that definitely seems to be the case. She rides well in the car and in fact, she seems to love to ride in the car. She walks well on a leash and has not had any accidents in her foster mom’s house. She is an all-round super sweet girl. She is microchipped and was scheduled to be spayed on 11/16/23 but became ill at that time and had to be hospitalized for 8 days. All tests came back negative, but she began to get better with the administration of Prednisone. She was rail thin when she was released back to the care of her foster mom. Our vet wanted her to weigh 50 pounds before she was spayed. She finally gained the weight and was spayed and tested heartworm negative on 3/12/24. Her daily dosage of prednisone was slowly decreased to 5 mg every other day, by the end of March and she is doing fantastic. We feel she is ready to find her forever home. Gigi is located in Arkansas and her foster mom thinks she is the best. The adoption donation for Gigi is $1000 plus the $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Gigi, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. Story
This handsome poodle mix is approx 3 years and 40 lbs. He was found laying in a ditch unable to move and taken to the local city shelter in Houston TX. His x rays showed that his sacrum had separated from his Lumbar Spine, he also had a bullet in him, but they did not feel that it was affecting his ability to walk, Our orthopedic surgeon said it was an injury that was unable to be repaired. We started him on some physical therapy and after a few days he was able to stand up and while his back legs remained crossed he was able to hop around the yard We started him on a rehab program with the Gulf Coast Physical Therapy and after a few weekly sessions, he is able to run around the yard like the other dogs!! The legs are now uncrossed and he hops with his back legs, he has started to walk at times like a normal dog and we are hoping with some more underwater treadmill sessions that he will continue to improve. He will go out to the yard with the other dogs to urinate etc but at night only he cannot control himself and he sleeps in a crate with a puppy pad or a belly band. He is a sweet boy, he loves to be with people, he gets along with the other rescues but does not like big active dogs and will bark and chase them. We had a special cart made for him so that he can go on long trips around the neighborhood or to the dog park etc.. he still prefers to hop on his own, but it works great for when he gets tired. we do have videos avail for anyone interested in adopting him, he does have some urine staining on his back legs and body and most of it will come out when he gets a bath, but he is not perfect and an owner will need to give him weekly baths. OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with no children under the age of 8, and experienced dog owners only. WE REQUIRE VET RECORDS ON YOUR CURRENT OR PAST DOG FOR OUR REVIEW. RECORDS MUST SHOW THE POTENTIAL ADOPTER AS THE OWNER The total adoption fee of $500 ( and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper and canine influenza, and microchip. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. We also provide a free wellness visit to the South Wilton Vet group if convenient for you. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Our application is online at https://www.houstonshaggydogrescue.org/apply/

Story
She'll make a special companion for a special person! Macy, an approx 10 year old, 17 lb potty trained Bichon/Poodle mix (best guess), LOVES taking walks, is great with other dogs, and is the definition of a couch potato. She's a bit finicky and takes some time to warm up to be humans, but once she does, she's a velcro dog who'll follow you everywhere. She's looking for a patient and loving human in a quiet home. Fenced yard needed becaue she loves hanging in the great outdoors. *Our only goal is to find her a loving home, and as such, we are waiving her adoption fee for senior citizen adopters.* Macy is microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed. ##1992502##

Story
Maggie is a shy, schnoofle, doodle....something poodley. She is a young adult who, although, she lived in a home, was given no love or attention. She wasn't socialized and is afraid of the world, but her foster parents have worked wonders with her. Maggie needs a very patient home, definitely someone who is around more than not. She does have separation anxiety. Maggie is very loving and bonds quickly, especially w females. She is fearful of men and that will take a little time to get over, but she will. She has no aggression. She is good w dogs and cats. No young kids because loud noises and quick movement we will frighten her. Let's find this sweetheart a great home.House w fenced yard, must be able to afford vetting and grooming. Maggie will need time to feel safe with new people, so someone who understands this and will give her the time and patience she needs.  She has already come so far in her foster home. Please go to the link to fill our our adoption application IN FULL!!  htt ps://www.remembermerescueny.net/adoption-application  Remember Me Rescue does not adopt out of the local area, no transport is available.  We adopt to Long Island, Westchester, NYC area and parts of Connecticut only. Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you! ##2129510##

Story
This is a courtesy post Please contact Donna at dogrescue@gmail.com or text her at 203-340-5912 Peter is a 4 ½ year old male dog who is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. He was adopted by his family when he was just 10 weeks old and is believed to be a poodle pointer. He has lots of energy and loves to play. Peter is a fun loving guy who loves to: Play fetch Sit in his pool Swim in any kinds of water Go on walks/hikes with his family Chase the hose outside Being outdoors Chase birds, rabbits and squirrels (He has yet to catch one, but continues to try) He is very social with company that comes over to visit Loves sitting at his front door with it open watching the traffic/people go by Loves sleeping in his crate at night Can leave him home all day and will not chew objects in home He loves having jobs and working Peter is considered special needs due to his high anxiety. Due to his family having a toddler, his family has made the difficult decision that Peter needs a home with less noise and more space. He is a very skittish dog who needs to be with someone who understands his high needs. Peter worked with a trainer for a year - is great with the commands: Sit Come Down Place Stay Leave it No Quirks: Food aggression (He loves finding his food in the house and is given space when he eats and does great) Resource Guarding Tight Spaces (He becomes uncomfortable and can become reactive if felt threatened) Sleep startled (He has a space in his home where he knows he can go sleep and not be bothered) Peter needs a special home equipped to work with him on easing his anxieties. His adopter will receive a training package with his current trainer to allow for a smooth transition. His family is willing to help with any transition as well. He would benefit from a family who has land for him to roam. Due to his high anxiety, he would do best in a home with adults only and no other dogs. (Although he does well with other dogs especially females)
