One of the siblings (Livingston) completed a DNA test, and the results came back as 54% poodle, 12% Australian Cattle Dog, and 10% German Shepherd (see full results in photos). All of the pups in this litter have scruffy coats except for Miller (he has a flat coat). We expect them to grow to medium sized dogs. These sweet babies were found abandoned in a tote bag on the side of the road in East TN when they were just a few days old They were named after roads in the area and dubbed the Highway 68 litter. Miller is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. From Miller's current foster: "Continuing outside walks. 3 times around the house and Miller loves to walk outside now. Meet Magnificent Maleena! This super sweet and very active girl is learning all the good things that life has to offer. She knew her life was turning around the moment she arrived at her foster home. This poor little girl spent most of the months of her short life living in a crate in the garage with very little food, water, or attention. She is small for a standard poodle but too big to be a miniature. Her sad life caused her to weigh only 20 lbs when she was rescued. You could count every rib and see most of her bones. The vet says she should be about 40 lbs and is now well on her way to her ideal weight. Maleena loves people. As soon as she knows you are nice she is your buddy. She is also great with other dogs and ok with cats. Maleena's favorite thing to do is to RUN!!! She absolutely loves the fenced in field at her foster home and the other dogs that run out there with her. We think that she would also love structured exercies and that she would be a great companion for an active family who enjoy walking, hiking or running. She would also do better in a home with older children or an all adult home. Maleena is making great progress with her leash manners and loves to ride in the car. She is also housebroken to a doggie door so she might need a little help if you do not have one. Maleena will make a great companion for the right family. This precious boy was rescued from a bad situation involving a domestic abuse case. He, along with five other doodles, were removed in January. All of the dogs were badly matted, thin, but remained in great spirits. Fast forward one month and Rodey has a new lease on life! He is newly groomed, fully vetted: all vaccines are up to date, heart worm negative, and scheduled to be neutered soon. He is two years young! He seems to be comfortable around cats and simply ignores them. He is easy going, loves to be with people, and does great while getting groomed. He's going to make a fantastic companion for an individual or family. Non-shedding!!! Currently he is in Arkansas, but transport is available for New England. Meet Casper, a ~5 year old neutered male mini poodle/shih tzu mix, weighing about 22 lbs! He is a sweet boy who can be shy at first and is fearful/aggressive to strangers. He wants desperately to form connections with people (and he does once you give him space and let him come to you on his own terms), but he is very fearful and he has learned that behaving in an aggressive manner = the scary thing goes away. He takes time to warm up to strangers and needs someone who will be patient with him and work on helping him learn to trust. He DOES have the capacity to trust and once he does, he is an absolute LOVE and a very sweet boy. Casper is selectively good with other dogs after a proper introduction (he does best with similar sized dogs). He is good with people once he has gotten to know them and trusts them, but would do best in a child-free home. He has not been cat tested, but we feel he would probably do ok with cats. Casper's ideal home would be one with a quiet, calm environment. From Casper's current foster: "Casper is truly growing everyday. He still is protective when strangers come into the house but we are working on this. Going to do some more training to help him there. But as far as my family in my house, he is a complete love. Loves to play, lay on your lap and be around his people. He is so gentle and sweet. That is contrary to his reaction with strangers in the house. I just love this guy. He is amazing with my boys. Has welcomed the puppies into the home with no problems. He is going to be an amazing dog to the right people. He just wants to be loved and feel safe.
