Born approximately September 17th 2023 Walter is an 8 pound male poodle mix seeking a forever home. Walter is a parvo survivor and a true spunky spirit!! Here is a little bit about him: he adores people and gets along great with other dogs. Walter’s ideal home would be one where his people are not gone for long periods of time -a home with another playful canine companion. Walter’s adopters will need to understand that he will require a lifetime of regular grooming to keep his curly white fur at its best. He is not a shedder. He loves to play in the morning and often wants snuggle time in the afternoon. He is working on his doggie manners such as not jumping up when’s excited to see you. He’s doggie door trained and knows how to sit for treats. He’s good in the car as long as you are by his side. The call was put out for the need from several commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of the midwest. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. These innocent souls lives was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. They were one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total 11 lives including Fable & his sibling Candy Cane. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Fable how he is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as they are in their foster home. Fable & his friends & brother were bought back to the WA state where he is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. Fable has had the most beautiful personality since we rescued him. He is one confident little chap & he is full of life love & energy & is up for any adventure that comes his way. He is extremely sweet but is very loving & a very cuddly little lad. We know he adores being picked up & held & carried around to see what is going on. He adores being kissed & hugged. He is still a baby & can get into puppy mischief. But he is a normal typical puppy. He also is stunning as he has the 2 different colored eyes. Fable loves a good outfit & will wait for you to put one on him. He is a smart boy too, he can go up & down any stairs. The reality is, the foster homes are his real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding he can snuggle up in, a roof over his head that’s not outside. Fable is a wonderful eater & is not shy about eating. Now he squeals with such excitement when it’s time to eat. At first he was uncertain because they are fed such a poor quality diet. He eats a clean diet meaning, raw fruits & vegetables, grains, raw proteins & supplements along with treats. He absolutely loves his treats & bully sticks & collagen sticks. He is obsessed with them his foster mum said. He adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something he did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. He currently sleeps with his foster friends & he is fostered with his sibling Candy Cane. He will want to sleep in bed with you whenever he wants to. He is such a sweet puppy who just wants to be loved & to make up for his past. He loves everyone & is so very sweet. He is wonderful with being bathed & groomed & good with the hairdryer. He would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash. He is a puppy & we have not taken him out anywhere. He still needs to learn his puppy manners. When it’s good time, you know Fable is there. He doesn’t bark but sounds like a bird. Fable rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when he went to be sold & when we got him & going home & to & from the vets with us & his loving foster home. But he does absolutely amazing in the car. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lad only. Fable as you can imagine spent the first part of his life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Fable where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Fable is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him & never give up on him. Fable has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & he is currently with his sibling in his foster home. He absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for him to thrive in. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take her to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard. Fable is roughly 7 lbs & he is roughly 8 months old & ‭a toy poodle‬. He has put on weight since being in the rescue. What he is mixed with we are not sure. We treated him for coccidia & giradia as we do with all puppies. He was also treated for bronchitis with antibiotics when he first arrived. Male, he is neutered by our vets. He is microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHPP, bordatella, leptospirosis, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Fable with paying for him from a commercial breeder. Bringing him to WA with his travel costs, his transportation to WA. All of his medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing him to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering. Fable has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Fable was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Fable’s friends & sibling he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Fable potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. It’s so funny to watch this sweetheart & her sister run for the first time as she & her sister Lilac looks as though a big ball of fluff is running. Her foster mum said you don’t even know she is in the home as she is just so sweet & innocent. Lily is the best of both worlds, she will play but then be happy to snuggle up with you on the couch. She can be a little stalker & loves both her foster mum & dad. She has mastered wooden stairs & can go up & down them no worries. She can also squeeze through a baby gate as she is that little so that needs to be considered. She is curious with being in the backyard but is never ever left alone outside. She will put leaves & dirt in her mouth while outside just for curiosity. This little lady is now loving life in her foster home. She now knows what toys are & loves playing with her toys. She has been learning to go potty on material potty pads. She is not too fond of being outside for too long. At first she did not have a clue about anything at all but has picked up things very quickly in her devoted foster home. She absolutely loves her foster siblings & sister. She is extremely sweet but is very loving & a very cuddly little lady. She really enjoys snuggling with you & we know she adores being picked up & held & carried around to see what is going on. She absolutely loves to sleep in the bed with you too & be apart of what you are doing. She is such a very innocent puppy who just wants to be loved & to make up for her past. She loves everyone & is so very sweet. She loves being bathed & groomed & tolerates the hairdryer. She absolutely loves you brushing her & will close her eyes & go to sleep while brushing her.
