This sweet little girl came to us back in April and weighed half the weight she should be! Miraculously this girl is heartworm negative but her fosters helped her battle some nasty skin infections. She has gained weight at a healthy rate and her skin is healing slowly but surely. She is insanely sweet, good with dogs, cats, and kids, and is quickly learning how amazing life can be! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an application. We do allow out of state adoptions and any transport costs are at the expense of the adopter. Meet Lily! (Formerly Penelope) Age: approx 2 years old. Breed: hound, unknown if a mix. Size: est 45lbs. Training: crate and leash trained, doing great with house training! She knows basic commands. Good with dogs/cats? Yes to dogs, no cats. Good with men/women/kids? Yes. We believe she would do best in a home without small children. Personality: a little shy at first, but she warms up to be friendly, playful, and affectionate. Reason for rescue: came in through animal control after being picked up as a stray with her 3 pups. Lily is spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped, and current on vaccinations and preventatives. I’m a heartworm warrior who successfully defeated this terrible disease.I’m a good-size boy, around 80 pounds. I love being outdoors on adventures – I’m an enthusiastic trail walker, employing my hound skills to sniff and sniff and sniff all the new smells. I do great on a leash and I’m a well-mannered car rider! I’m also a bit of a gentle giant and would love to curl up on your lap for snuggles.I’m a strong pup and I need a dog-savvy adopter who can help me manage my energy and size.
