Meet Walker! He came into the 4 PAWS family in May 2020; emaciated, heartworm positive and had several wounds. Walker has made a complete transformation! He is a sweet 7-year-old, 74lb silly boy who is good with kids and other dogs but hasn’t been cat tested. Walker was treated for heartworm and has tested negative. This breed mix can be high energy and very smart which means he will require exercise (mentally and physically). He will also need a 6ft fence with plenty of area to run. His new family needs to be committed to daily exercise, continued training, and socialization. Our bouncy Ben was picked up by a local animal control.  He was very thin, heart worm positive, and had intestinal parasites.  All of that is behind him now as he has completed treatment for all and is ready to find his forever home.  We really should have named him Tigger as he bounces every where he goes.  He loves to play and also can be a snuggler when he has gotten his energy out.  We don't know how he is with cats as he hasn't been around them.  Ben knows sit and down and is eager to learn more.  He would like a family who will continue with training, and include him in their adventures, keeping in mind that he is a hound and must always be leashed when out because he likes to follow his nose.  He would be a great walking, running, hiking buddy.  If you are that special family who would love  this boy forever, please contact Rainbow Animal Rescue at rainbowanimalrescueva@gmail.com or 757-472-1583August 3, 2024, 12:22 am

Sandi is an owner surrender, due to no fault of her own, who has lived in a home and hopefully retained some of her manners despite living in a shelter for some time now. Sandi is an older gal, approximately 7 years old and weighs nearly 60lbs. She is up to date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped. Adopters are offered (4) FREE 1 hour training sessions with our partnered trainer after the adoption is finialized. These sessions are offered in person if local to Hampton Roads area of VA or if out of the area, online sessions are available. George needs work on his confidence but once he's there he will be having everyone nearby stop and stare because he's so handsome George is uneasy around men and has not been aggressive but we are asking for a female only home for him as we do not want it to turn into aggression. He is great around everyone in public but once he was settled in his past foster home he let the man in the home know he was uncomfortable about him by growling at him unprovoked. This behavior was only noted when he became more settled into the home and more comfortable over time. Available for adoption anywhere in the US or Canada with transport provided
