Story
Frankie was rescued from a NY Shelter where he was picked up as a stray. No one claimed him so DCAR was happy to bring him into our rescue and help place him into a loving home. He was very matted when he was found and had to be shaved down. Frankie listens well, comes when he is called, loves to chase balls and curl up on your lap. No small children and a secured fenced in yard is preferred. He is doing great on house training and a nice little dog. Frankie would be great as an only dog but is good with other dogs too. He has developed some house guarding which we are working on. If you are interested please complete an application online. This dog is currently being fostered in Rochester, NY and cannot travel prior to adoption. Meet and greets available in the surrounding area only. Visitors welcome. PLEASE NOTE: Unless otherwise written, all of our puppy mill survivors will require a secure fenced yard, another small dog in the home, and an experienced owner. Dogs rescued from puppy mills will have started to learn but cannot be expected to be fully potty trained at time of adoption. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW! We currently adopt in the states of PA*, NJ, NY**, DE, and some areas of MD. We cannot accept applications from other states at this time. *Eastern half **Excluding NYC, Bronx, Long Island If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our adoption application which you can find on our website at www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org/adopt.html We will reply within one week if your application meets the criteria for this dog. Our adoption fees are on our application. All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped. We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We are a public charity that relies solely on funds through our adoption fee, fundraisers, and private donations. Since we are 100% volunteer based, all funds collected go directly towards the rescue and vet costs of our dogs. We take each rescue personally and spend a lot of effort trying to match the right dog to the right family. Thank you for considering one of our rescued dogs.

Story
Meet Charlotte! Our sweet little Yorkie girl has made great progress since coming into rescue. She was nervous and shy, but has slowly learned to trust and is learning to enjoy affection. Charlotte is a quiet girl, and usually only barks at mealtime or when she wants your attention. She's OK with other dogs, but not too interested in interacting with them, so she would be fine as an only dog. Charlotte is not housetrained, and wears a diaper in the house as we continue with training. A new family with someone at home most of the time would help Charlotte to reach her potential, and have the happy life she deserves. She is 10 yrs old, 7 lbs, and ready for adoption. Charlotte is being fostered in the Newtown Pennsylvania area.

Story
Amber is an affectionate yorkie who came into rescue from a puppy mill. She is fine with other dogs, but prefers the attention of her foster family. Learning how to go up and down stairs and walking on a leash are new skills Amber has learned. She does need consistent training on housebreaking, with lots of praise and reward. A home with a fenced in yard is on her wish list, as she loves to run and explore. Amber is 8 yrs old, 12 lbs, and will be a great companion for the right family.

Story
Meet Lilac!Lilac's story is one of survival and resilience. Abandoned outside of our shelter sick and emaciated, this senior Yorkie was given a second chance at life. With love and care, she's made a remarkable recovery and is now thriving in her foster home. Lilac is a gentle soul who loves the simple things in life - like food! She's a bit of a foodie and enjoys treats and snacks, but she's not picky. Her easy-going nature makes her a joy to be around, and she's adapted well to living with cats and a small dog in her current foster home. Lilac has experience living with large dogs in the past, as well, she's not fussy about size. She's more concerned with finding a warm lap to snuggle up in!As a senior dog, Lilac is looking for a forever home where she can enjoy her golden years in comfort. She's not high-energy and is happy to spend her days lounging around the house or going on short, leisurely walks. But when she feels like it, she's up for an adventure! Whether it's a car ride or a trip to the beach, Lilac is always game for whatever comes next. For more information or to meet Lilac, please email adoptions@pspca.org!_______________The Pennsylvania SPCA350 E Erie Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19134Kennel #3079

Story
We have a transport trip we are personally taking our dogs on leaving from SoCal to PA and all surrounding states. We would love to add Lexy to our trip for the right family! Travel costs will be in addition to her adoption fee to help aleviate the total travel costs in coming all the way to the east coast and back. Meet Lexy. She is a 5.6 lb, 9 month old Yorkie/Maltese mix. She has a little more growth left, but not much as she is very dainty, and small boned. She is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, and had a wonderful exam with our vet whome has cleared her to find a home all her own. She is pad trained, and has no issues using pads in her area. Due to her size; we watch her very closely outdoors due to the wildlife in our area. She has no problem going outside to use the restroom, but again, is always accompanied. Depending on how you would like to continue house training, she will be easy to work with as she is very easy going, and conforms to your expectations easily. She is learning the leash, as it's still very new to her. Her prior owner never walked her and always carried her so leash time was brand new coming to us. She is small enough to carry everywhere so it's not hard if that's what you want to continue doing or just simply enjoy carrying your baby around, but leash time will improve the more experience she gets. Walks will become something she loves, as she loves to be outdoors, and truly enjoys the scenery around her. She is NOT a barker, but is communicative and will let you know when she needs something. She is wonderful with other dogs, big or small. We do however only have her around dogs similar In size to her so she doesn't accidently get hurt as she is very friendly, and wants to play with every animal she meets. She also grew up in a home with cats, so that won't be an issue whatsoever in her next home! She is crate trained; and will happily sleep in a crate at night or if needed throughout the day. She does sleep in a dog bed currently at night in an open/secured play yard we have set up for her which she loves. She is wonderful at the groomers, and was very sweet with all the attention she received during her spa treatment. She rides wonderful in the car too so if you are looking for a lap dog to enjoy traveling with whether by car, or plane she is definitely your girl! Yes, she is young, playful, vibrant, and full of life, but her age is just a number as she truly would mesh beautifully into anyone's world whether you are single, retired, have a family with chidlren, have other animals or simply want to make her the princess of your home. She will happily join your world just the way it is and add more joy, love, and happiness than you ever imagined possible. She is NOT high energy and is very easy to please and keep happy. She loves to play with her toys near by if you need her to entertain herself for any reason during the day. She just wants to be a part of what YOU have going on even if she has to do something else momentarily until you can join her again. Her adoption fee along with its breakdown is on our website at breadoflifek9refuge.org under her listing. It covers her spay, vaccines, microchip and registration, time, care, grooming costs, and training since with us. She was in heat at time of her spay, so extra anesthesia time was needed, along with an antibiotic shot that was given to aid in her healing. Those extra costs are calculated in above as well. She had a dental and ear exam and both are in great health so nothing was needed moving forward. She is ready for a new beginning ❤️❤️❤️
