Story
We adopted Ollie from a coworker when he was puppy 10 years ago. He is an excellent snuggler and loves to go for walks. He is gentle with our toddlers but can be overwhelming to outside kids as he seems to see littles ones as playmates. He is very protective, but is not aggressive other than barking at strangers or the Amazon delivery man. We now have a busy life with work and small kids and can no longer give him the attention he needs. He would do best in a home without cats, and likely will be ok with other dogs. At least one long walk a day would be his dream. He just received a healthy annual physical and had his teeth cleaned under sedation.

Story
Looking for a pint-sized bundle of joy? You're in luck! Journey's foster reports that she is very smart and polite. She is an affectionate, friendly companion who loves to snuggle up next to her favorite person. Journey understands behavioral cues and is very attuned to the feelings of the people around her. She loves to relax at home, but is equally enthusiastic about an energetic walk around the neighborhood. She is crate trained and house trained. This little lady would love nothing more than to be by your side, whether that's at home, at a coffee shop, at the park... you name it, she's up for it. Maybe that's why she's called Journey -- she is ready for her next adventure! Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/. Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance from Middletown, DE for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Oscar and Oliver! Oscar and Oliver are 11-year-old, 7 and 8 lb., Yorkshire Terriers who were surrendered when their owners could no longer care for them. Both in good health, it was obvious how much they were loved. Oscar and Oliver have good vision and hearing. They are potty trained, but wear belly bands in the house. Each dog takes medicine for arthritis and allergies, and Oscar also receives medicine for a collapsed trachea. Oscar and Oliver get along great with dogs and kids and enjoy being picked up and cuddled. They need a house with limited stairs and their ideal home would have someone around most of the time. Oscar and Oliver do bark when someone leaves the house so a single family home is best. They are both crate trained, walk well on a leash, and don’t require a fenced-in yard.    Oscar and Oliver are super sweet dogs who love to be with people. They follow each other around, and sleep next to each other every night. When they are together and curled up in someone’s lap, life is perfect. Why have one dog, when you can have twice the cuteness of two? Please apply today!

Story
Benji a 9yo 11lb and Romeo an 11yo 6lb are a bonded pair of Yorkie mixes. They are dog and kids 15+ friendly. They are both housebroken but Romeo wears a belly band inside since he has been known to mark. They are good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. They like to play with toys, cuddle with each other and be near their people. Benji is calm, quiet and like to be pet but not picked up, so like to lay next to his people on his terms or cuddle in his own bed with his favorite stuffed toy. Romeo is friendly, feisty, very affectionate and likes to lay on his people’s lap. Benji and Romeo are required to be adopted together since they are a bonded pair so will not be separated. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Benji and Romeo as all dogs should have 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first. Benji and Romeo are neutered, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently in the Phila, PA area. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org
