HIRO is a friendly, affectionate, and strikingly handsome 5 year old male Japanese/American Akita. He was surrendered to rescue after his family had to relocate to Korea and were unable to take Hiro with them. Hiro is a medium-large sized Akita, and weighs about 80lbs. He has a beautiful, soft, shiny blond coat and the sweetest, brightest dark brown eyes. Hiro was very socialized as a young Akita, and has an easy-going temperament. Ruger is an incredibly handsome 4 year old purebred American Akita. He is friendly to new people, affectionate with those he knows, and likes to play tug-o-war! When it's time to sleep, Ruger carries his "baby" (stuffed animal) around and then snuggles up with it. Before coming into rescue, Ruger lived in a home with kids, and another dog. We think he would be happiest being an only dog, and in a home with Like most Akitas, Ruger will do best in a home without other dogs, or children under the age of 18. MAIKO needs a Miracle - - - LOVELAND, COLORADO Maiko has lived his entire life with his family, and after facing a life-changing situation, they have no other option but to rehome him. He has been loved - intensely - since he was a pup, and is well socialized, but like many Akitas, he would do best as an only dog in the home and in a home with kids older than 10. He is going to turn 8 in March, is neutered, up to date with all his vaccinations, and is microchipped. He has no known health issues and has never been involved in a bite incident with a human or other dog. His family is devastated and has asked for our help in rehoming him, and avoid him having to be moved to Southern California. Please share this post. He loves to play tug-o-war, catch a ball, splash in water if he is lucky enough to have access to a small plastic kid's pool! It's not HIS fault his Human could not keep him, and like all dogs that live in the moment, he just wants to LOVE. He is dog-friendly (with other playful and respectful dogs) and would do great with an active family with kids. This young guy is super fun and a total looker. He’s an athlete for sure….. he just may not know the rules of the game….. but he’s super up to learn! He is really friendly and eager to play, but also just loves getting attention (treats are good too) and knowing what was going on. He seems to be an Akita mix and definitely has that Akita attentiveness. He’s a nice mid size (much smaller than a standard Akita) and has a medium level of fluff. He will need regular brushing to maintain that fluff, and regular exercise to manage his play level. In return, he will be your absolute bestie forever! You will never have a better bestie than him! You also will have a dog photo for any occasion at the ready on your camera roll cuz you’re gonna take so many pictures of this heartbreaker. Tonga will need some basic training and a nice consistent walk/ exercise/play routine.

Kai is a handsome and sweet 60 lb Japanese Akita who loves to eat snacks and run or walk with his people and other dogs. He is smaller than the American Akita but just as beautiful and smart! He loves to run and exercise! He is selective with dogs and favors female dogs. He was tested recently and does chase small animals such as squirrels and cats. Sadly, Kai was abandoned at a kennel by his owners. He is a lovely dog looking for his very own forever home! He would do well in an adult home with older children.
